The penalties, the drops. Zach has his flaws, some major ones. But the most frequently overlooked one is his leadership. He’s let this team down so many times, it’s like he doesn’t feel he has the license to hold this team accountable. But that is the responsibility of all winning quarterbacks.

Perhaps the penalties and overall sloppiness are part of Zach fatigue from the offense. But the fact is, he is the starter, and that is not changing. I for one would like to see him step up and go for it in terms of whipping these dudes into shape. Lord knows Hackett won’t do it.

He needs to gain their respect not just with his play. He needs to take ownership of this offense not just for the press, but behind closed doors and on the sidelines. Grab some face masks, call out mistakes (not to the media). Rally the troops. They’ll respect it, and the ones who don’t are poison anyway.

Time for him to grow up and seize this opportunity. His play will never be perfect, but he can’t be afraid to take the lead and call this shit out. Take ownership and will this offense into some semblance of functionality. Right now they all think they’re playing for some kid and they’re not wrong.

Lol if Zach tried to get in his teammates I would 100% support them laughing in his face.
