Don’t want Lavine, necessarily, but the case for trading for one makes WAY more sense now in an effort to get to ~.500 than it did when we did for Blake. Back then we had a one dimensional player in Dre playing a brand of bball that was quickly becoming not valuable. A backup PG in Reggie manning the ship and a whole lot of nothing else around them…the argument now, bringing a piece already in their prime is that we have Cade, Duren, AT and potentially Stew assuming we keep him as building blocks + cap space in the summer (even if a chunk of that is taken up by who we bring in). The fact we have actual pieces now, couples with the fact we NEED to change this culture and get Cade to not be on the worst team in the NBA 3 years in a row as he is entering an extension summer is all reason enough to try something. This slow burn of praying these guys all develop into their best case scenario at the same time without adding anything/anyone of substance to the roster is nuts and will waste another 15 years of our fandom. Whether its this deadline or this summer its time for Weaver to shit or get off the pot…no good FAs this summer, there never are. Good players get re-signed, period. Go out and trade for a guy who will come here and be better, you are after all an elite talent evaluator-right, Troy?
Cade for harden!
