Holy sh*t that was some of the worst defensive scheming/personal decisions I’ve ever seen… we can’t be dropping benito jones in coverage. Bringing 2 rushers on crucial 3rd and longs. Spying cominsky against lamar ever. Playing 6-10 yards off consistently. Putting a safety 30 yards deep in the middle of the field 3 consecutive plays(he did save the td with a tackle all 3 plays though!! After 30 yard gains). Somehow never stopping that damn te flat route across the formation for a decade now. Our linebackers were terrible. Mark andrews is a pretty known weapon but on one play 4 guys bump into him as they all stare at lamar rolling out clearly looking to pass only to let him run right past for another easy 20 yard gain. Offense just got out physically beat. Ravens lived with 8 in the box on 1st and second which took away some of the run options forcing us into obvious throwing situations. I was at the game so couldn’t really tell what was going on from the field til now. I know it’s only 1 game. Jacobs/Harris being late inactives didn’t help but there is a lot of HUGE problems above that could continue to be if we don’t figure something out. We ran the same stupid d against Seattle and got torched as well
Good observations OP, people saying it wasn’t scheme and just execution are delusional.
And this formatting isn’t even that bad. Should’ve started a new paragraph at “I was at the game…” other than that it’s fine, this isn’t much text. DCN is just an edgelord asshole who brings nothing to this sub but gatekeeping and cringe
AG obsessed with cover 3. Barnes struggled with getting enough depth a few times. We won almost every man coverage rep except the TD to agholor and thats due to the 10 seconds to throw, not so much the coverage.
rough game.
Check out this bad ass rush on 3rd and 11. Cominsky belly bumping/spying and Campbell doing the same. While we bring 2
Part of me thinks that the team did it specifically to curb fan expectations. Horrible to say, definitely.
I would love to see Rex Ryan as the defensive coordinator.
