  • So they have but haven’t.

Post Seattle game until about the raiders game they used jack in a role on early downs to be on the LoS to set the edge vs the run but on play action and passes he was in man coverage on the RB for any leak outs

He wasn’t really being asked to psss rush at all, but rather stop us from having Charles Harris getting isolated in man coverage on Tight ends or RBs off of early down play action, which if you recall Seattle did to Harris and James Houston and got big throws to the TE as a result.

I personally don’t like Jack as a pass rusher at all, I think his game is at Mike, but they haven’t actually tried it by any means yet

    Sure.

No pressure. 2 sacks in 3 games, none today

Isolated Jerry in Watson multiple times

Sat in soft zone allowing underneath routes to pop open

No creativity or post snap rotations to fool the QB

We give up TDs on the first two drives and there was one third down on those drives

Green Bay won the toss and took the ball because they knew they would score 7. Teams have abandoned running and just sling it vs.

Three straight weeks jerry is caught with his pants down 1 on 1 vs WR1. Post route to Allen, post route to DJ moore, and slot go vs Watson

This is all pressuring the offense to feel like they have to play a game of 7s. And be ultra aggressive on 4th down

  • Stats require context.

Sam Howell leads the league in yards, is he the top 3 QB in football right now?

    No.

Against the few playoff teams we played we allowed 35+ points against them all.

The defense does force more turnovers than last year, and it is extremely good against the run

Yet on third down we struggle heavily to get off the field. Especially third and long.

Soft cushion corners, uninspiring pass rush, and blown coverages

We beat the buccaneers 20-6 but it might have been one of our worst defensive games, we gave up wide open routes everywhere. Baker just missed.

  • That’s where I’m at. I think he gets credit for us being a really solid offense for as long as we have been.

That being said we have come out flat a few times and while we have a lot of creative plays in the book. Some of our standard reads and concepts could be better managed and executed

We lead the league in drop rate I believe and that’s excluding Jamo. We run a lot of screens with varying success. And outside of the occasional sideline lob to Reynolds we have little success with attacking opponents deep or atleast making them fear it.

It’s a worm kn progress. Worse problems to have for sure imo

  • theres plenty of late developers. Immediately Davante Adams comes to mind.

and i never said he was a god tier talent or ben isnt a god tier OC. i think they are both neither.

Ben is solid but i have my personal frustrations with the relentless screens, constant first down runs resulting in long 2nd downs. hes really solid but i do think his pass schemes arent too complex and really its 16 -> 14 thats saving it.

as for point 2, its not just Jamo, its also Gibbs who early in the year struggled to get these same kinds of touches. just not scheming up open space.

  • My big issue with kerbys play has been he’s struggling to get routed passes to him vertically. And this is how a lot of our defense has been.

Eyes in the backfield and getting nervous.

    Two plays to watch.

    1. the will Harris early INT vs the buccaneers. Kerby, the deep safety, gets caught on the PA and lrts Mike Evans run right by him. If Buggs doesn’t tip the ball it’s a 95 yard touchdown

    2. maybe not so much kerbys fault but vs the ravens Lamar rolls right and Andrews releases and every level of the defense passes him off to the next and he ends up wide open

I think we are better in man coverage than cover 3. And we run a shit ton of cover 3.
