Troy Polamalu.
Cameron Heyward is making a run, but without a ring it will still be Troy.

I am a Steelers fan myself and so part of this is checking my biases to be honest. I have some hope that DJ is going to get fed in the new offense, but I feel like I need to see it first/
Don’t think there’s enough volume with Stafford still looking a little hurt last week to support both LA WRs, so I think that puts Pittman in (in a good spot too). Of the LA guys I’d probably take Kupp.

Downs vs. TB
Diontae Johnson @ CIN
Godwin @ IND
Leaning Downs because he’s been getting fed and I think that game could sneakily be a shoot out.
No he’s total ass. He had one good year when Brady and Arians were heavy influences and he fell to pieces without them.
I think that’s part of the impetus for firing Canada. They want to give him a look in the final 7 games and see what he looks like without Canada. The overall scheme won’t change but the sequencing, play selection, and weekly game planning will.
I feel bad for him man. I’m sure he didn’t want to suck and this has been miserable culminating in him getting canned two days before thanksgiving.
Like it’s a deserved loss of a job, but it’s still brutal.
I like Kyler, and that contract is way more palatable post trade than it is on its face. They’d have to mail the OC hire though, and hiring someone with a progressive look who could maximize him would be a departure from their typical hires.
STEP UP IN THE FUCKING POCKET YOU HAD A FUCKING MILE OF SPACE
Missed read on the screen by Kenny… he can’t keep deciding presnap where he’s going with the ball.
Cam Heyward. No question about it. Want to shoot him a quick text each night to see if he remembered to bring water up to have next to him in case he gets thirsty in the night… if he forgot that’s cool just let me know and I’ll get it for him, no need to get up.

This data doesn’t include the most recent game, but it shows that it’s not an issue of pass protection. Pickett actually gets more than average clean pockets to work with and performs worse than average from them.
The problem to my eye is a clean pocket vs. a perfect pocket. Pickett gets happy feet and uncomfortable when the pocket isn’t perfect - even when he’s got space to step up or reset he bails completely and/or drops his eyes to the rush.
100%. It’s made worse by the fact that the Steelers’ core defensive stars aren’t getting any younger. Watt is going to turn 30 next season, Fitzpatrick 28, Cam Heyward will already be 35 in Week 1 of 2024. I’m not expecting the first two to fall off a cliff, but the beginning of their decline is probably closer than the beginning of their respective primes.
At this point they’ve effectively tied Pickett to their most useful years, and you just can’t say with even a shred of certainty that he could be anything approaching a top 10 QB.
