I watched the Raiders Chiefs game again and if you want to hear good news, AOC did correct mistakes he had made vs Miami. I think a problem the Raiders have had is the fact that QBs can’t move around in the pocket, when Andre James basically gets pushed backs up to the QB. AOC cant step up in the pocket and sometimes he is forced to check down to the side because he has 2 300lbs men right in front of him covering his view.

I think offensive linemen, particularly, run blocking linemen, get better with time and consistency. With time, they get stronger and adjusted and can go on to be solid pass blockers. Thats why I hope they bring back Andre James but moving him to LG. Games are won in the trenches, and I believe we have the right guys, they’re just in the wrong positions. Move Parham back to RG, and let Thayer keep the RT. He is getting stronger and growing. I think next season, we are going to see a good RT. The only position that needs investment is Center. If you have time, watch that Georgia vs Alabama game. Georgias Center, Van Pran, has been the captain of the o line for years. He has played in big games and has also been a big reason why Georgia succeeds, moving the ball down the field. The Raiders are in a good spot this year, to be able to get some huge pieces for this roster, through the draft. I would love to see us get a Center like Van Pran.

  • Besides that, i think we should implement west coast scheme and invest in pass catching TE later in rounds. Whether its like Waller (WR converted to TE), and invest in some scatbacks like a C-Mac.

And I personally think in this draft, you can draft a QB (Not as our starting QB) in day 3 or UDFA and have him as a swiss army knife. Use him in RPOs. Anything to keep defenses on their toes.

  • Our O line really only needs a Center. You move Andre James to LG and Parham to RG. Give Munford the RT spot permanently, and you have a solid run blocking O line that is average pass blocking. That is a realistic dream scenario. If we draft Bo Nix, draft the Center that has played with him at Oregon. That QB/C duo in football is underrated.

This draft is heavy on WR. I think we need to take advantage of that in later rounds, alongside RBs. Zamir White isnt it.

    We need a CB1 #24 forsure though.

Id say an LB that can take snaps away from Deablo. He is good but he just cant be reliable due to injuries. Amari Burney and Pola Mau can continue to develop and eventually be LBs, so I think we are fine.

DL will always be invested in. Or should always be invested in. Im still in the idea of letting Tyree continue to grow and move him inside. Malcolm Koonce has definitely earned playing across Crosby. Again, no matter how good the D line is, it is always a good idea to invest in the trenches.

Honestly, had we won against the Bears and the Steelers, which I believe we would have if we had AP as the HC and have gotten rid of Marcus Peters, we would be 7-5 heading to the bye. Im not trying to convince you or disagree with you, but I will say that we arent far away as many people think.

If you rewatch the game, theres an issue inside the O line that has prevented us from being able to take advantage in play action and most run plays. Aside from that, we have always had issues with statue QBs that just arent a threat with their legs. If you can fix the inside of the O line, get a QB that is smart and athletic enough to use their legs, and continue to build the defense through the draft, we can get to the next level.

After the bye, we have the Vikings, Colts and then division games. Its not as bad as some think. Dobbs already has 4 INT. Minshew is beatable and division games can go either way… one week at a time

  • Ayyy yea i remember you because of ur username.

I honestly will be excited if we draft any of the qbs coming out this year. Like Nix or Daniels. The only thing that scares me about daniels and why I would prefer Cam is because both Cam and Jayden converted to pocket passers and cam seems more natural in the pocket than Jayden. They got alot of talent at LSU. He has more opportunities to run or sling the ball in open windows all game long. Same with Bo. A checkdown for these guys converts to a TD. Thats just how talented they are. And Cam has none of that. At all. And Id just hate if we draft a QB that struggles with the speed of the nfl and lesser talent they have compared to the weapons they were blessed to have in college.

  • Update since yesterday: theres about 6 on the Cam Ward train 🚂

No “keeping receipts” BS. We welcome anyone with open arms. Come join the Cam Ward train. We here… We are Raiders fans at the end of the day, and if we are trying to get a QB1, lets shoot for a QB that is more than a Game Manager. A creator and someone that has a better than average arm. I Know. He is in the Pac12. But if we judge caleb and all the ofher pac12 QBs, can we judge the QB from WSU, a college program that is so bad that not even the Big 10 or Big 12 want to recruit the school

  • I just have a feeling Kyle Shanahan (Since he has wanted a mobile QB, like Trey lance, but Trey Lance was not experienced at all) or pete Carroll (being in Washington), one of these guys might draft this guy and make him great. I know the other QBs are more of a “safer” pick and Raiders have sucked at drafting, thats why I hope yall watch him.

  • I think there’s me and one more person here in the Cam Ward train.

He also put up 300 yards and 3 TDs in the first half, when they played Oregon State. He is the only QB in the Pac12 and in of all power 5 conferences, has one of the worst talented roster, and I stand by that. Stats confirm it, but I just ask Raider Nation to watch his tape. If he isnt the QB yall like, can we just acknowledge, that he is the only gunslinger with absolutely no talent. At least Drake Maye had Josh Downs last year. And I know, its the pac 12. Thats why i suggest to just watch WSU games, to understand that talentless team and what Ward does. Stats wont show you why I feel like we should draft the guy, although he is statistically, top 5 in all FBS. He was balling for 2 years in fcs before transferring to WSU. Id argue he is the second most experienced QB of all these guys.

  • Besides those two contracts, we are in a very good situation of building through the draft. I hope Champ Kelly can continue to keep that system, and continue to draft. We are definitely closer on being a defense team. Id rather keep teams under 20 points than a high point team, like the Steelers, Browns, Seahawks 49ers, Jets. Thats how the dynasty teams are. They have an elite QB but forsure a good defense. We getting there.

  • AOC is playing like a seasoned QB. Knows when to throw away rather than getting anxious and throwing a INT pass. Even if you don’t think he is the future, I think we can all agree that he has improved since that game vs Chargers. Particularly in the turnover department.

I think we draft a QB regardless of how good he is playing because we will need a backup, once jimmy is gone. But I think the better he plays, I think the chances of getting a QB in the first, go down. I can see a scenario like the Lions who drafted Hendon Hooker. Optimistically, whoever takes the QB spot from AOC, he will have to be smarter more accurate and more athletic than AOC. Which is a good problem to have because AOC might not be as athletic as most NFL QBs, but he definitely has shown to be able to play smarter and more accurate than other rookie QBs (Besides CJ) and most backups. Regardless, even if AOC ends up being a backup, he will definitely be a very good backup. He can be our Colt McCoy.
