The end is meant to be this infinite void of nothing, and it’s supposed to be this bare minimum landscape of practically nothing, so adding more to it just won’t happen

A way to test this is to recreate the setting in a creative world and do /game rule random tick speed 200, you will know real quick if it will burn or not
