Ditto. First time I’ve learned of this new 500e, was sometime last year (Europe only iirc). Back then, how I wished it would arrive to the USDM. My prayers were answered. This would be my 2nd option (or 1st) next to the EX30. If my prime EV (solar) preorder goes kaput, this new 500e will be in the running, as my 1st EV.
One thing to note. You’d never see a CVT (poor reliability/listless to drive), on a Mazda. The Mazda engineers were very wise enough, not to join the “CVT Bandwagon” (i.e. Nissan, Subaru, Honda, etc).
Got my LAIAS tix. Will report the CX70, if it does show up (doubtful though)…
Am excited to see both, at the upcoming 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show.
This is a great concept for a future aftermarket option for any EV. Reminds me of the 0.13cd Aptera. The glass Full Solar kit w/ Maxeon cell panels (hood/dashboard/roof/rear hatch door). Recharges for up to 40mi range per day.
I’d bet that motor oil never had a chance to get hot long enough, to burn off moisture in it’s 750mi life (i.e. driven a good distance on fwy/hwy). If the year is up, I’d definitely change it.
For a 2013 with only 17k miles…is this motor oil with this mileage age repeated yearly? Driven only on short trips?
I’d get a solar EV, like an AWD Aptera w/ Full Solar & Off Road Kit.
Costco Tire tech scratched your right rear fender of your Soul Red CX5…
An even better value to the Continental brand, are General Tires. It’s my go to, for summer tires (Los Angeles). General Tires, are essentially Continentals (by another name).
Yeah I am tempted too, to switch to LE. But the only difference from my preorder, would be the Noir wrap and the supposedly “robust” and higher wheel pant ground clearance Off Road Kit (though I don’t go off roading). I kept this pre order (non Launch Ed), since I’m not that far really from the Carlsbad HQ/factory. SoCal would get earlier deliveries (according to Chris Anthony…) probably post-2k Accelerator participant unit deliveries…
I really like this new 500e styling. It is actually one of my favorite small EVs. I’ve seen around 2 of them in person, in Prague (was in a 5 city EU tour last March-April). Btw, speaking of EVs I visited the “House of ID” in Dresden aka Die Gläserne factory. The place was amazing. Back then when I joined the only English tour, that former VW Phaeton factory only churned out 38 ID3 per day. Hilariously slow…it more of a showcase VW factory.
