I’m not really defending Tepper here, but there is a line for a reporter when it comes to making the story about themselves. Scott has spent the past day after the press conference talking about him personally being upset because he was ignored.
It’d be different if he was only writing about how ridiculous it was for Tepper held a press conference and did not give the press in large a legitimate chance to ask their questions. Instead he’s been inserting himself into the story and it’s a little eye rolling.
It should almost be expected that if you write a harsh story about someone that they’re not going to play along with you moving forward. Not to say that Scott shouldn’t do that (he should keep Teppers feet to the fire), but it’s not a surprise that Tepper isn’t going to want to interact with him. Not many people would.
Media literacy is a big problem. We’re only a few months removed from literally everyone involved with this franchise gushing over Bryce.
It’s possible these reporters heard we wanted Stroud when we thought we were going to #2 and are just stuck on the idea that we wanted him the whole time. But everyone here in Carolina has made it clear they wanted Young and jumped at the opportunity to get him when the Texans went silent.
Dang, no love for their brothers on a sinking ship lol
We’re all literally making a choice to cheer for a billionaire’s play thing. It literally doesn’t matter which one you pick. It’s an entertainment product, pick one that entertains you.
Adam Peters so far seems to be very selective about what opportunity he would take as a GM, so probably not likely with Tepper around, but he would be my dream hire.
Mike Borgonzi from KC and Dave Caldwell from Philly are also interesting options.
Hey, don’t forget he also put the Panther logo on the 50 yard line. His second greatest achievement since coming to Charlotte.
Scott Fowler loathes Tepper lmao
We literally just had this happen too with Hurney saying he wanted to trade up for Herbert. Every coach/GM seems to be Nostradomus after getting cannned.
Dagger touchdown incoming
Do we practice scramble drills at all? Why does no one find an empty zone to get one during these?
Titans secondary is trying too hard.
Franklin was hoping he could switch teams there
Goddamn, Frank is gonna cling to that 4th down TD as a reason to not change a thing
I swear that blown up pitch call on the first drive convinced Frank he only needs to run from the shotgun up the gut for the rest of the game.
lol even mom and dad would rather rock Bama gear over the panthers
“Some sharks are out here wanting this job,” one league source said.
That’s certainty an interesting/intriguing line in the article. Especially when the next line talks about Ben Johnson being the frontrunner this past offseason before he decided to not pursue a HC job.
I would guess a blow-out will mean someone’s gone. Fitterer’s days seem numbered and would likely be the mid-season sacrifice to the fans.
Reich I think sticks around for at least the whole season unless Tepper wants to give Ejiro a try-out for HC and get Brown to call the offense without Reich’s influence. But I think Reich will be given enough of a leash to see how he responds to a run of divisional games.
A lot of coaches don’t pass on opportunities when so few are given. Especially hot coordinators who are potential first-time HCs. They risk a less productive year causing teams to overlook them the next cycle.
And the one good thing Tepper does is throw his money around, so guys are gonna be interested as long as he keeps that up.
Feel like TNF is making a point to clown on this franchise’s decisions. We’re a joke now
The headline is completely obvious since we’re 1 year removed from doing the exact same search. But this quote is the more interesting story.
It’s also completely frustrating. It’s ridiculous that we would consider keeping Fitterer at this point. Even if Tepper wants to hand wave the Rhule years because Rhule had final say of the roster, Fitterer’s first year without Rhule has been an unmitigated disaster. Stripped the offense before drafting a QB, signed a weak FA class, and already got to be a part of the process to hire a HC who got fired 11 games in. The dude gets bodied in almost every trade deal and his draft classes are a big swing and miss.
