I think the win is not only in those 16 miles or $2, but once in eco mode you are actively driving more economically. In other words, you could achieve the same in comfort mode, apart from the coasting.

I fall in the last category, but once was a manual fan too. Automatic was for grandfathers with Volvo’s but not for real drivers like myself! Nowadays, I cannot imagine why on earth you want to change gear yourself.
