I disagree. They lack creativity. All they’ve been doing is iterating on gameplay loops they came up with 12+ years ago. Very little innovation.

I have more respect for Obsidian who’s able to create GOTY level games in multiple genres and truly innovate on gameplay. Fallout New Vegas. South Park Stick of Truth. Grounded.

Do you play games primarily to let yourself be carried by a story and beautiful cut scenes, or for an engaging, stimulating gameplay loop? If the answer is the latter do not get BG3. You’ll realize too late that the game is too slow, the combat boring, and you won’t be able to get your Steam refund.
