HyperboreerBto NFL@nfl.community•Derek Carr's teams have slowly but surely gotten worse and worse in the redzone since he entered the NFLEnglish1·2 years agoThe drop in 2018 when Gruden took over the playcalling seems very significant, but for some reason he hasn’t recovered since.
HyperboreerBtoLas Vegas Raiders@nfl.community•SNB Today: Justin Fields to the Raiders?English1·2 years agoNothing against him personally, but the instances where you actually get a longterm franchise QB on his second team are so rare, it’s not worth it. The last one was Goff? Just draft a guy and hope for the best. It’s still a gamble, but with considerably better odds.
HyperboreerBto NFL@nfl.community•2024 NFL Draft order: Bears still have two top-5 picks despite win vs. Vikings; Pats in line for game-changerEnglish1·2 years agoThe Bears are the most interesting project in the NFL. They can get Caleb Williams and the best OT in the draft to protect him. Already have a top receiver to throw to. I feel like the Bears could be the best NFC team over the next 10 years.
Lamar was pick 32. Pretty much everyone passed on him once (even the Ravens). Obviously there were concerns for NFL scouts. If they knew who he was he would be top3.
I think we could have kept him, if McDaniels wanted him as ST coordinator. He was under contract. But usually new head coaches fire almost everyone and bring in their own people.
HyperboreerBtoLas Vegas Raiders@nfl.community•Every single newly hired HC in the NFL deserves to rebuild.English1·2 years agoI feel like the problem is more like that we are never in a rebuild, except for Gruden’s start. And even then we kept the QB. Which other coach traded away several stars for first round picks? Usually every new coach tries to win with the roster someone else build and gets that one big name signing, that gets us excited and wins us 6-7 games. It’s always “The team is not that bad, we can compete now” even if we suck for twenty years. Then we hit a ceiling because we didn’t do the proper rebuild and shortly after the coach gets fired again.
If Gruden hit on some first round picks, this could have been a Super Bowl team by 2021. But we are too impatient to try it again. The obsession with “competing now” leads to us never making the steps to get competitive in the future.

HyperboreerBtoLas Vegas Raiders@nfl.community•Antonio Pierce coached perennial powerhouse Long Beach Poly High School to a losing record.English1·2 years agoI am very chilled. If it works that’s great. If it doesn’t we are getting a new coach and gm in the off-season and we get a high pick to draft our QB of the future. The worst case was always a third McDaniels season. That’s not a threat any more.
I am done with coaches with weird character problems. del Rio with his statements, Gruden with his e-mails, McDaniels with his cheating and leaving the Colts at the altar, now Bienemy with his sexual harassment?
Can’t we just hire a decent coach, who is not a weirdo and comes with a lot of baggage that will ultimately backfire on us? Is that so hard?
Some people let their job and their failures stress them out. Jimmy doesn’t. He’s just chilling.
HyperboreerBtoLas Vegas Raiders@nfl.community•Just saw the Leonard Williams trade.English1·2 years agoWhy would we trade for someone? We are 3-4 and really don’t look like playoff team. If at all we trade players away.

I really don’t understand how this contract happened. Didn’t he make about $10 million per year on his last contract with the 49ers in 2022? How did that get so much more? It’s not that he played a lot better than before or was more healthy.
HyperboreerBtoLas Vegas Raiders@nfl.community•Tae on Carr’s impact on him deciding to come to VegasEnglish1·2 years agoI can’t remember a player, who complained this much publicly while starting every week. But I can’t even blame him, if you look at how this team is run.
Why is this 1st and 10 and not 1st and 25 if the Chiefs did a foul?
