Word, he screams and cusses out refs with the best of them, I think he’s one of the top coaches in that regard

Meanwhile, the confused little kid doing the “on his head” celebration almost ruined it for me
Wemby is currently #329 in the league in defensive rating. Not sure what Pop was thinking, assigning him to guard Steph. Maybe someone could explain.
What are you talking about? His nickname was Big Handsome! 😂
No, you literally broke our only remaining backup PG with your unsafe court design, we will sue you for your backup PG. You break it, you bought it. You get Dru and we get CPJ.
I’d love him on the Heat, he’s a gritty motherfucker, but he’s so damn ugly we’d have to make our game broadcasts radio-only
"Last night, 5 splashes down… that will not happen for you tonight, by the way"
Jax is a real one, we gotta hang his sport coat in the rafters once he retires.

Scroll down to the rookie section and let it load, it takes a while for me. Jaime’s rating number is even higher right now after the Cavs game, and his PPG is now in double digits.
I know that’s a joke but hot damn, you guys pulled a Heat this year and signed yourselves an Undrafted Allstar, great fucking move! Where did that kid even come from?! He’s damn good, playing like a starter already.
You killed our backup PG today with your courtside pothole, send us CPJ as compensation, it’s only fair.
Don’t put that deer-in-the-headlights chucker fraud Wemby in the same sentence as our Jaime.
LeBron was able to take the Cavs from .207 to .427 his rookie year. They still missed the Playoffs, but he doubled their wins. This would be the gold standard for a “generational talent” #1 pick.
You expected Wemby to turn the .268 Spurs into a Finals team his first season?!?! 💀
Man, the marketing agency running Wemby’s hype machine should win some kind of Nobel Prize in psychology…
I guess that means we should pick him up on a 10-day now that we’re down to one PG
Absolutely these things take time to learn. For example, on the Heat, Jaquez has good hands but missed a Full Court Kevin Love Lob™ badly the other day. You have to be used to playing with a particular “specialty passer” so you can anticipate when he’s going to do it and where he’ll be be aiming. It becomes more automatic once you’re used to playing with that teammate.
Yurt is a scorer, that’s literally all he’s able to do other than grab a few boards, so I’m not surprised. One of the worst defenders the league has ever seen, though.
hue hue hue
Chill, he’s only played 4 games this season before getting injured, give him a chance, he’ll grow into the Lakers. He wasn’t good at first on the Heat either but turned out to be a gem.
No one expects the Spurs to become a contender in one season but it is reasonable to expect an improvement in wins over the previous season when you draft a player marketed as “generational” and “instantly transformative”.
I went through the last decade’s worth of Rookie of the Year, plus some bus-driving Hall of Famers, and all of them had immediate impact on their team’s wins in their rookie year. LeBron more than doubled the Cavs record from the year before. Dwyane Wade turned the 25-57 2003 Heat into the 42-40 2004 Heat, which made it to the second round of the Playoffs.
Based on the marketing, I think all that non-casuals expected is for the Spurs to become a .400-ish team this season. But they’re somehow actually doing worse this season than last. I know it’s too early to tell, but it’s hard not to get deflated.

Yesterday’s Spurs game… I think it’s time we have a talk about what Rookie of the Year is supposed to mean. Because I know everyone’s already awarded it to that kid before the season even started, but… I’m not seeing results. The kid is not producing wins and is not making his team better. Spurs actually have a worse win percentage this year than last, and they were tanking then.
Oh hooray. 😒
I had hoped we wouldn’t be dropping two in a row again this season. Does anyone know a babalao that can throw some spells real quick? A quick limpieza?
