They’re not cheap, but the Precision series has all the CAD power you can ask for in a laptop.

Dell laptops usually have good Linux support, and they offer powerful machines, requirements and budget permitting.
Combined with the news of an apparently massive first-day patch this seems like a game for patient gamers. Basically like the first 3.
What kind of machine is this, laptop? Desktop? If desktop, check the cables. Otherwise I’d switch out the drive.

Hey, I remember that shit show.
18 years
Aaand I’m getting old… :/
Docker Gitea to Docker Forgejo was basically using a different image and pointing it to the existing database. Not sure if and when both will be different enough for that to no longer work. But I also only use it as a docker compose storage repository. No idea about automation etc.
Oh well… Maybe I could finish the first part instead.
What do you mean, “proprietary”? Don’t they connect via Bluetooth?
Did they learn nothing from the Boaty McBoatface disaster?
Is anyone actually surprised by this?
No, why? That’s capitalism for you. It’s still a US company/subsidiary, just with a German owner.
And you think this behavior magically goes away just because it’s a different language?
“Toastbrotmann” ist jetzt auch nicht wirklich die beste Verkleidung.
a motivated group of talented Rust OS developers could build a Linux-compatible kernel, from scratch, very quickly, with no need to engage in LKML politics
Riiight… Because those developers would always be of the same opinion… Good luck with that.
I’m looking for a Debian based distro
I hate bloated distros
So… Debian?
Have dabbled with LMDE on several 2-4 years old Dell XPS models, which are basically the same hardware as in the Precision models.
What I tested all worked fine, including automated BIOS updates through LMDE itself.
It would depend on the actual laptop in question though, as those lines come in a wild variety of possible hardware options.
Did you even read the post?
Isn’t vendor lock-in a wonderful thing…
Sorry, what?
