Because they have. A ton - they paid Spez almost $200 million last year. But when you invest, spend, or pay out all of the money you get, on your tax sheet it says you didn’t make any profit, because you don’t have any excess money.

If there is an exe, it’s under the releases link. On desktop it’s on the right sidebar below “About”. On mobile it’s at the bottom after the readme blurb.
It’s not obvious because the code is the main focus and GitHub would much rather people host their releases somewhere else.
Stainless steel also stains. “Stainless” does not mean “never stains,” just that it stains less than other steels.
Endless Spotless Stainless Steel is a steel that stains, has fewer spots, and ends a bit later. The logic of English is all but senseless. Which means it has everything except a bit less sense.
Because almost every country and economy has been built on the assumption of exponential growth of a constantly renewing pool of young workers that will pay for the upkeep of the growing elderly population. For example, currently 18% of the Chinese population is over 60. It’s going to be roughly 40% by 2050ish.
The planet will definitely be happy though. Humans, not so much.
At least it makes some sense, as they are mostly based on ISO 3166, as well as:
the international vehicle code for South Africa has been “ZA” since 1936. ZAR serves as the ISO 4217 currency code for the South African rand. South African aircraft registration prefixes also start with Z.
SA is the country code for Saudi Arabia.
Discord is great for providing a community chatroom for both voice and text. It started, and still is, as the combination of IRC and Teamspeak/Ventrilo, now just with more bloat and memes. That people are trying to use the “IRCTeamspeak” as the entire information platform for their open source project is just mental, as it puts everything hidden behind a login requirement, unindexable and unsearchable on any search engine in an ever-changing stream of unrelated discussion.
Stick your bug reports and issues in a Github/Gitlab etc tracker, your information into a Wiki, and set up a forum. The discord can exist alongside these, but it cannot properly replace any of them.
“Record rates” to what we used to buy from India, which is almost nothing. EU oil imports from India increased from 111k barrels a day to 236k barrels a day, while we used to import something like 4.5 million barrels of oil per day straight from Russia.
But writing “EU now imports 3% of the oil it used to from Russia through India” would hardly be news worth writing about.
The plan was not viable when proposed due to the British naval blockade.
Without that, instead of 6 million dead, we might have gotten the Jewish Australia? Bummer.
For Steam, not yet. Thy might eventually go the “Open World Survival Crafting” route and combine the popular tags to one, but for now they are Bullet Hell + Action Roguelike.
Also some people would add not having upgrades or unlocks of any kind that persist between runs for a game to be considered a true roguelike, the idea being it’s you the player who learns and gets better to eventually be able to beat the game, and not because you failed 50 runs to eventually unlock enough hp and damage upgrades.
Which is why the “correct” term for most of the games is roguelite and not -like.
So if you try to write hello *world*
, your gboard writes hello*world*
instead? Because mine does not.
Fairly sure that was a case where the guy wanted to give the copyright to the ai algorithm itself and not about the copyrightability of the art. Specifically, he wanted them to be copyrighted as “as a work-for-hire to the owner of the Creativity Machine” - creativity machine is the name of the algorithm. Basically just a modern version of the monkey selfie kerfuffle.
it’s why i never understood why there was such a push by some to automatically defederate from threads before it even launched.
See Eternal September.
As an example, if Reddit decided to implement activitypub and federate with Lemmy, 99.9% of the content would now be coming from reddit users and you’d basically never see anything else. At that point, why not just go back to Reddit?
Care to suggest some, I’ve been looking for an alternative.
First bicycles, then electric scooters/mopeds, now EVs.
Just like the two ends of a string create a singular string end.
I would assume the small amount of training data written that way doesn’t contain that many professional research papers, corporate emails or calm poetry, but would consist mostly of social media posts and comments which have a rather heavy bias towards aggressive and negative.
