MiaCannonsBtoMiami Dolphins@nfl.community•Week 12 Rest of the league game threadEnglish
1·2 years agoWhat a start by the Raiders
I was just saying this in the Dolphins discord. Wake got injured late October and not only did he play all 16 games the following season, but he won second team all pro too. At 34 years old!
Considering the fact that it usually takes a while for athletes to look like themselves even after being deemed “healthy,” Wake was an absolute genetic freak.
MiaCannonsBtoMiami Dolphins@nfl.community•Andrew Van Ginkel in games without Jaelan Phillips. (14 tackles and 4 Sacks, through 3 games.)English
1·2 years agoHe’d come in for passing downs since Fangio doesn’t trust Long in those situations. Long was pretty atrocious in coverage in the earlier part of the season, though I haven’t watched him too closely in coverage in recent games.

NBA - Main@nba.space•At 10-5 the Heat are tied for the 2nd best record in the East and 4th best record in the NBA through 15 games. Lots to like about this team to start season.English
1·2 years agoUh huh. Let’s go with that.
Aside from that, the Heat have arguably the best coach in the league, two players that are much better than the Magic’s best player, and have consistently shown their hot starts aren’t flukes by actually making the postseason and regularly making deep playoff runs.

MiaCannonsBtoMiami Dolphins@nfl.community•Can someone explain to me how Jalen Ramsey was NOT the Defensive player of the week? According to PFF.English
1·2 years agoSame. Hated so much that they were quickly able to get an impact player at a big position of need for a relatively cheap price. They were looking like toast at CB with White being down, and the replacements not looking good. Now CB isn’t that big of a concern thanks to Douglas.

NFL@nfl.community•Despite having the second best record in the NFL at 8-2, the Detroit Lions are currently 1-2 against teams with with winning records.English
1·2 years agoBroncos are 3-2 against teams with a winning record.
You guys are officially contenders, according to the media’s rules

1·2 years agoJaelan Phillips should’ve been on this list too. 2 sacks, 1 INT, 2 TFL is a crazy game

NFL@nfl.community•Week 14's GB-NYG on MNF and Week 17's GB-MIN on SNF are on the NFL's radar to possibly get flexed out. HOU-NYJ and MIA-BAL seen as replacements, respectively.English
1·2 years agoPlease, no more. Flex our game vs Buffalo later in the year. Tired of these primetime games on the road vs SB teams

MiaCannonsBtoMiami Dolphins@nfl.community•Are we really a team that can’t beat an o.500 team?English
1·2 years agoI think we obviously have the capability given the talent, but people just assume we can’t because we have not done it yet.
All of these above .500 teams have already lost to mediocre to bad opponents. People with even a little bit of common sense should think to themselves “If these above .500 teams can lose to bad teams, certainly a very good team like the Dolphins CAN beat them.”
People being skeptic about us because of our struggles against these teams is understandable. I get it and won’t blame them for it. People thinking we don’t have the capability to do it just because we haven’t done it yet do not understand football at all.

NFL@nfl.community•Russell Wilson this season - 178-262 (67.9%; 10th-best in NFL), 18 TD (tied 2nd-best), 4 INT (tied 3rd-best*), 104 Passer Rating (4th-best).English
1·2 years agoFor real. Crazy how Russ was treated like a bum because he got saddled with Hackett as if he didn’t have a long resume of high level QB play in Seattle. His resume should’ve earned him the benefit of the doubt.
Meanwhile with Lawrence, everyone pretends his rookie year doesn’t exist because he got stuck with Urban Meyer as if there’s no history of rookie QBs ever performing well despite being stuck with a bad HC. Then coming into this season he gets labeled a top 5 QB because last year he had half a season of great QB play.
Wild how differently some QBs get treated
Got bumped up two spots during our bye week, lol.
Maybe losing on the road to the two teams that were in the Super Bowl and on the road vs a divisional opponent won’t be looked at as being horrible losses now that pretty much every bad team has multiple losses to much worse competition.

1·2 years agoHe’s going to start getting some respect now that his team has had two big wins back to back, but he’s playing like he has been all year. Not the guy he once was in Seattle, nor as good as the counting stats show, but still a pretty solid QB who is far from being the main problem of the Broncos offense.
MiaCannonsBtoMiami Dolphins@nfl.community•Miami will play a .500 Raiders team! 😬🫣English
1·2 years agoSince we cleaned house at upper management (GM, HC, OC, etc.) do you still think we’re a “bad” team like we were under the old regime or do you think we’re a bit of an unknown/wild card team that might actually be decent?
Think you guys are still a mediocre to bad team that has some pieces but not enough talent to be a playoff team. I don’t think you guys are bad as in top pick caliber bad, clearly a level behind the teams competing for a wildcard spot. Your defense is definitely scarier than your offense but even so, you guys don’t have much top end talent aside from Crosby and possibly Hobbs. Offense has Adams, Jacobs, and Meyers, but needs a lot more, especially at the QB position.
A lot of teams that fire their HC start to see some life almost immediately (See last year’s Colts, Broncos, your raiders the year before) but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ve always had the necessary talent and it was just coaching holding them back.
MiaCannonsBtoMiami Dolphins@nfl.community•Miami will play a .500 Raiders team! 😬🫣English
1·2 years agoWhen we win, the narrative will shift to “Can’t beat contenders.” And if we beat the Ravens or Cowboys, it’ll be “Don’t think they can do it in the playoffs.”
The media will always continue to find some type of talking point to say why they don’t believe in teams. I’m just glad that this year they can’t find anything to say about the talent on our team.
Throughout this week when sports media was talking about if we’re really contenders, some were using one of the dumber arguments I’ve heard. “If you remove the Dolphins 70 point game, how good will their numbers on offense really look?” as if it’d freaking drop us to being an average offense
Wonder if they’ll try to say this game is a fluke too.
