From memory, this section is overall uninteresting and poorly conveyed. I failed the QTE like 3 times for no apparent reason on my playtrough. I never understood what i did right/wrong.

Eating animation? I don’t remember zombies having an animation for this.
I think there was a lightning sound and it would cure itself after like a full in-game day.
Also, there are 2 golden apples, idk which one you had to use.
