maybe they’re saying it’s crazy that he’s so good at such a young age in a position that doesn’t often contribute at a high level early in the nba. maybe you shouldn’t take it so negatively. no one expects a rookie center taken 12th overall to completely reverse many of the weaknesses on a very flawed team
i think people’s expectations of him are far too high. he needs to improve on defense, mainly not getting obliterated by screens, and keep knocking down open threes and attack hard close outs. his dribble could really use improvement too, but i don’t think he’s a bad player at all. it’s exhausting watching people scapegoat him when not having an alternative to Powell is the main issue with the team. if anything, Kyrie and Grant need to perform better
