Steam deck is a niche device that isn’t some “one true portable gaming device” that everyone makes it out to be.

Christ, man. Chill out and let people enjoy what they enjoy.
VRChat has been the Metaverse all along. And people actually like VRChat, unlike the hell that Zuck is trying to create.
I have known precisely zero people who mean “game preservation” when they say “game preservation.”
I have known many people who mean “I want to pirate and emulate games I don’t own” when they say “game preservation.”
If you wanted to actually preserve games, found a museum, hire a curator, create an official institution dedicated to such and staff them with people qualified held to reasonable standards.
You can’t just go “we should preserve games” and then just claim that everyone who pirates and emulates games (theft) is somehow doing some good or noble thing.
If Starfield or Tears of the Kingdom’s final acts were unplayable, you would never hear the fucking end of it on this subreddit and there would be class action lawsuits.
Yet here we are.
This game has broken people’s perceptions and is being placed on an untouchable pedestal.
Plenty of games are as good as BG3 and even better.
It’s all childish and petty. It’s just people deciding to hate certain products no matter what or fawn over other products, even if they don’t deserve it.
The Quest 3 has been amazing. The fact that there no “sweet spots” to deal with, just simply being clear from edge to edge, was a total deal-maker for me.
Every other headset left me feeling awful, but this one has made VR totally fine for me. Big fan.
This subreddit can never, ever be trusted to discuss Valve in good faith.
Valve 100% has a de facto monopoly, but people make excuses for it and frame it as a good thing.
EGS has, what, 1% of the market? And people shriek at Epic for being a monopoly?
And people want Xbox to be able to buy everything to get back at Sony, who has a 51% market share?
People here are only selectively upset at monopolies when they can protect Steam and get rid of console exclusives.
To all the people who are considering game dev: take this thread in.
The Gamer™ community will always believes what it WANTS to believe, rather than what is real and factual, in order to constantly rationalize their need to be cynical and victimized.
Bullshit. Be a grown-up and pay for your toys instead of stealing them.
This sub is so depressing. Every discussion about the Switch is dominated by people lamenting its lack of power.
The Switch is just barely shy of PlayStation 2 in terms of systems sold. It’s going down in history as one of the most successful pieces of consumer electronics ever.
Maybe, just maybe, Nintendo knows what it’s doing and knows its strengths better than we do.
They give you the most comfort options I’ve ever seen in a VR game.
Only for the tiny and whiny minorities of Gamer™ communities like this sub.
Most people love open worlds.
I’ve played it for 4 hours and haven’t experienced that at all.
I feel like most people share the belief that the Mass Effect “main trilogy” games got much better with each installment.
ME2 had way better gameplay and polish, and ME3 had much better action and weapon variety.
I enjoyed Andromeda quite a bit and really feel like it got done dirty by the community.
Nintendo has a 96% employee retention rate. I imagine they’re doing several things right to keep that stat that high.
Yes, the MP is fun.
Do people think open worlds aren’t fun? Do people around here still just jump to blindly hating whenever they hear the phrase “open world”?
Definitely agree with this. It’s been harder finding a no-interference spot lately.
