You can start looking yourself, tons of manufacturers on Alibaba. Vetting them is the hard part, shipping samples can get costly both in time and money real quick.
I’ve started looking for such companies in my country, what I’m clueless at is how to identify buyers of manufacturers. Pitching and securing the deal comes later, I need to first learn how to locate these companies in the first place.

You seem to have tons of experience in this area, is there anyway I can pick your brain? My family runs a manufacturing business and I’ve been trying to help them distribute/ or find distributors, but can’t figure out how to crack it.

You can easily offer the 6 some free food/drinks and/or discounts on future events or some exclusive access. The original advice above is exactly what I would do, fill the room up however you can and use that as an opportunity to do better next time! Onward!
You can try thomasnet, madeinchina, alibaba etc. Time-wise i’m not sure how quick the process will be, as ideally you still have to vet them for quality, receive samples, not to mention shipping time.
when all else fails, it helps to have a rich family member to fall back on !
Well, for starters, they are ancient and has been a giant in the industry for ages, helps with brand recognition and trust. Soda B could taste 100x better and people will still get a can of ice-cold Coke over it. Their marketing only gets better over the years, adding to that ancient ass brand recognition.
I’m currently working with a manufacturing company and am in the exact predicament as you holy. It really is a struggle to find clients as a manufacturer ! I don’t know why is it so hard especially since i manufacture packaging !
If you’re worried about being " ripped-off" or given a bad deal, do the legwork yourself. Call up companies, make arrangements, go on-site yourself. You’re paying the agents to do the work for you, naturally the agents will protect their own interests. If you’re getting their contacts for a flat fee, they’re potential losing out on profit.
If it’s manufactured in China, it’s made in China. Legally and objectively.
Most people look for manufacturers in more rural places like China, Pakistan etc. for cheaper prices. If you’re worried about ethics, you can always make a trip down on-site and survey the manufacturers that you’ve shortlisted.
Cut him off like the cancer he is, even if he stayed onboard he’ll just sabotage the ship somewhere down the line. Making a game is suppose to be something that comes from passion, and it’s clear that he does not have that, nor the professional capabilities to be a decent coworker.
