Absolutely pathetic to punt there.
Absolutely pathetic to punt there.
Why not give EB the helm and see what he can do?
He has literally never run a team before which is a massive part of being a HC. Another part is that we would be putting him in a position to fail which other coaches and FO personnel will take exception to. You also don’t want to be viewed as an impatient ownership group which would make filling our FO and coaching staff harder.
The season is over, there is no point rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
I feel like a lot of the nuance of a young QB’s development gets lost in a poll. There isn’t even a wait and see option, everything is so binary and dogmatic which leads to more argument than conversation. You even pit it as believers vs haters, c’mon.
The fact of the matter is Howell had a chance to silence a lot of the valid criticisms he has faced today and he fell well short. Coming into today NY was his 2nd worst game of the season and now they are his 2nd and 3rd worst.
We shouldn’t bench him, he isn’t a bust, but a lot of people on here who needed to pump the brakes got a reality check. He is still very flawed and while there is a ton to love with Howell there is also a ton that should make you concerned about his longer term viability in the league.
Either way, assuming health he has 6 more games this season to give our new GM and coach a better picture, whoever they are.
He needs to throw that ball towards the sideline into open space, he has had a bit of a habit this year of letting that deep post get too vertical, this one comes back to bite him.
Please throw these ugly ass uniforms in the trash.
Obviously when Gibson catches the long TD
Gibson did not catch a long TD.
It makes no sense for Dyami to dive at the 1 either. You are assuming the offense can score on 4th down and then convert a 2 point conversion.
Are you talking about the game we lost because we gave the ball back with too much time?
You would have to be out of your mind to bet that. We have always struggled with the Giants, but we have also only won 4 games in the last 2.5+ seasons(44 games) by that margin and one of those was on a last second defensive TD.
Washington had a look they liked from the defense and used it as an opportunity to trap the personnel on the field. Boot right in that instance is either a free TD or it is a dead play so they gave Howell a simple look to maybe get a TD against a defense they liked. Howell didn’t get the free TD look and made the very terrible decision to try to bring a dead play back to life.
With an endless amount of time to score Howell made an awful decision on 1st & goal and it cost us points. Young QBs, amirite?
You should never spent premiere resources on interior OL. It is a replaceable position. The most valuable position in the game is QB, from there you were to either protect the QB or stop the QB.
The hierarchy in my eyes is: QB, WR, CB, DE, TE, T
Beautiful route combination there to give Howell a free window to Thomas
I don’t believe that! Trading him is a mistake! One of your best players that shows up every game. He’s the type you build with.
The team is coming up on a difficult point where they have to evaluate their next contention window. Allen is obviously a great player, that is what makes him valuable in a trade. But, realistically he is turning 29 this season and is probably nearing his physical peak. Will Washington be competitive again during Allen’s prime? I don’t think that is an easy question to answer.
This roster has some serious balance issues, the premiere talent is creeping up in age and our recent draft classes are looking suspect. SB contenders are built by either having a HoF QB or by having a stacked roster and a cheap(typically rookie contract) QB. We don’t have a HoF QB and I don’t think we have a stacked roster to carry a cheap QB. It is time to start again.
Sadly I think the best path to a constant contender or SB caliber roster is to tear everything down through this offseason and hope for better days in 2025+.
It would be sad to let fan favorites go, but ultimately I think it is the right thing to do for the future of the team and for the players. Let the guys who have made the past years watchable have a chance to accomplish their ultimate goal.
Well, the team is about exactly where it was when Rivera took it over. This team just endlessly repeats itself.
