Printing a book on paper and distributing physical books isn’t the majority of the cost of a book. Should ebooks be cheaper? Yes should they cost a fraction of a paper book? No since most of the cost in publishing does not depend on the medium of distribution. Most of the cost is basically the salaries of the people they have to pay to get the book onto the market (the writer, editor, marketing, etc) it doesn’t matter if it’s digital or physical these costs stay the same. Publishers basically lose money with the majority of the books they publish and make most of their money with the few hits they release each year.

The difference with physical is that you own the physical medium the license is stored on and are permitted to sell the physical medium with the license. With digital downloads you are not allowed to sell a drive with the files. Since you are technically making a copy.

yeah that’s true. Better readability without destroying the realism is possible. How ever I think studios like FromSoft can get away with subtle direction pointers since their target market is seasoned gamers. While a Playstation Studio dev studio who basically makes interactive stories nowadays and markets to the masses, from new gamers to veterans, has to unfortunately use the most on the nose method to please the least experienced gamers.

The only way to get rid of the yellow paint is to either make better readable levels that are less realistic like Zelda dungeons. Or make everything climbable like in Assassins Creed. Developers find out during play testing that a significant percentage of players will get stuck somewhere and then they add yellow paint.
