Harden iso was literally the most efficient play in the history of basketball over his prime, wasn’t it (as far as points per possession)? Not surprising he’s still effective there even as he’s diminished.

It’s those last two more than anything. For years he was a consistent 15-17 ppg scorer on good TS% despite having no 3 pt range (or any range) and being a terrible FT shooter.

That sort of player, who also runs the offense and is a strong defender, can absolutely have an impact despite a lack of shooting. And he proved it. But injuries and the rest have taken a toll, and certainly teams have also adapted.

The KD example OP brought up is just baffling lol. Out of all 500 or so current NBA players who could potentially contribute to an NFL team, KD would be among the last on my list. Just the completely wrong body type. He’d get killed even as a rarely deployed red zone specialist.
