General Discussion@soccer.forum•Does Leo Messi have any opinions?English
1·2 years agoHe supports the Nazi and Palestine at the same time. He wrote an essay talking about how He hates all LGBT and how every right winger is a fascist. He is the son of Hitler and the Father of Salin, Karl Marx himself.
He created slavery and than abolished it because he became friends with a black person. The player Messi asked for the bombing of Hiroshima himself, and at the same time He thinks Einstein is at fault for being involved in such a Project.
I could tell you much more about him, honestly.
Messi is a man of many opinions.

General Discussion@soccer.forum•Do you guys think there is too much recency bias when people talk about all-time greats?English
1·2 years agoThere is recency bias and there is also nostalgia bias.
The greatest from the past would still be among the best from today,is also true that even tho old players might be just as good at football itself as the top players from today, it is also true that there have been some very significant improvements, specially in therms of physicality. So, for example, if Man City from today was playing against Brazil from 1970, I would probably bet on Man City beacuse of the higher level of physical strenght nowdays, and if City actually won, it would not mean the City players are better at football then 70’ Brazil. Give the good old players all today’s tech and they would catch up in no time. Also, if you could put any good player from today in the past, they would not necessarily be as good, specially if he is a player that is better at following today’s tatics than He is at playing football itself. So, old players are Just at good at FOOTBALL, and as I said, the best from that time would still most likely be among the best from today, even tho the game itself might be at a higher level overall.

1·2 years agoYou meant “known by you”. If these are the only ones you know, than that just means you are in a buble and do not know that much about football🤷🏽♂️

General Discussion@soccer.forum•Which Messi goal deserved a Puskás?English
1·2 years agoIn 2011 he had a Goal nominated that was crazier than the one against Real Madrid: The one he scored against Arsenal.
Still, I think Neymar’s puskas in 2011 was well deserved.
In 2015 he should have 100% won. I think the voting was different that year, and fun fact, the dude who won is currently a pro FIFA player lol, he retired in 2015
In 2018, his nominated goal against Nigeria is better than Salah’s goal imo

General Discussion@soccer.forum•Top 20 Average attendance in the current Season of all FIFA Leagues:English
1·2 years agoChelsea has an average of basically 40.000, and that is rougly their total capacity, so yeah.
But Liverpool’s average this season is 50.000, and their capacity is 54.070
This list was not made to be an argument of which clubs has better fans, etc. Context matters, this list is just for fun and curiosity

General Discussion@soccer.forum•Serious Question: Why is the Premier League much better at dealing with Discrimination/Racism than La Liga?English
1·2 years agoI think Spain’s public debate about what is racism and how serious it is , is very poor and not as advanced as it should be.
People there seem to treat being racist the same as being disrespectful or being provocative, etc

1·2 years agoI put them there, but in reality this “new” number of theirs is not really correct, if you consider their attendance before the reform, they would not be first. So, I considered only after the reform, it went from 72k total seats to 83k seats

General Discussion@soccer.forum•How is it that people have so little understanding of football beyond statistics?English
1·2 years agoI honestly hate this modern culture of understanding football through statistics. They are important, when put in context, if course, but I see so many dumb people saying “X is better than Y because his scoring and assist numbers are better”, this is just dumb.
I honestly think most of these People are either casuals who think they know a lot about the sport, or they’ve never played football in any way

Premier League@soccer.forum•Why arent people going insane over Haaland?English
1·2 years agoBecause his strenghts and talents are not the most “artistic” and don’t feel like strenghts a conventional football genius would have for most people. His biggest atributes are strenght, accuracy and specially, positioning. Even tho He is indeed a genius at scoring goals, He needs a strong team to create oportunities for him. He is not necessarily a better player then De Bruyne, for example, they are way too different and have different roles in the pitch.
Even tho He is among the best in the current cenario, the fact that he is not that skilled and depends more on his teamates than other types of geniuses, people tend to underrate him, even tho any team would want him, probably.
So, In my opinion, even tho He is a Genius at scoring goals, He is not a genius with the ball overall. And I believe that is why many people don’t lose their minds over him, even tho his scoring numbers is insane
Because Ronaldo has a stronger personality and is more carismatic. Ronaldo screams what it means to be an athlete and wanting to win; his speeches, his mindest, the way He portrays himself on the pitch…
