Literally just play. Learning by playing is the best at first. It would be especially great if you had a friend you could play with, experienced or not they could help with understanding the details of what’s happening. Try out all the heroes as you unlock them. Eventually you’ll find someone you like.
One thing in this game is that certain heroes “counter” others. But it’s not just rock paper scissors because skill, luck, ping are also major components. But once you find a hero you’re liking the mechanics of look up on YouTube some tips and tricks guides and/or search for what match ups that hero is bad against.
You’ll also be able to learn what role you should be doing (flanking in the back lines, causing a distraction, busting the tanks, sniping, keeping the highest damage hero alive vs keeping the other support alive vs keeping the tank alive etc)
It will come with time. But for now just try and work your way through and make fun out of shooting other people into dust. Glhf
I’m bronze in comp. I have 1300 hours in quickplay. So whenever I get asked to play comp with my friend I do it and end up smashing the enemy team. But I really only play a few games a season and some we’ll lose because I can’t do it all. I wouldn’t say everyone who goes hard is a smurf. But if they have a super generic name, the logo profile pic and no skins and go 50 - 0 then it’s 100% a “douchebag” is the correct spelling idk why people spell it “smurf”
