You know, we joke about it but Doc saying “not gonna go on a Paul reed victory tour” was one of the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever heard a coach say about a young, up and coming player that is coming into their own. Why the fuck wouldn’t you want success out of a kid with a lot of talent, high motor at the back up center position that was already weak?? Fucking inexcusable

  • Honestly if you put Hardens knowledge of the game and skill into the mind and body of Tyrese Maxey we’re talking about an All NBA first team player. We’re not getting that per day, but we’re getting about as close as we can and it’s awesome.

Kind of reminds me when we let chip Kelly go all our players were so athletic because of the fast pace offense they had to run(which had an adverse effect on the defensive end), then they applied that to a legit NFL play style.

  • I think it depends on how you watch the game. If you watch it from a first person perspective of who has the ball, then yeah harden is cool! He makes cool passes, does nice iso dribble moves and hits some sexy step backs. But if you watch the team playing against another team, then he’s a disaster to watch. Turnstile on defense, stands around when he doesn’t have the ball, barely goes for loose balls and his iso tendencies cause other players to disengage just standing around watching him.

Generally, people that played structured, competitive basketball (in my experience) don’t like watching him because of how much he gums up the works. But people that love to play pickup and hit sick moves like to watch him because of the flash he has with the ball in his hands. To each their own.

  • While I agree, a lot of his issues are the same issues that drove me crazy when he played for the sixers. Refusing to move his feet without the ball in his hands (seriously there was a loose ball and he leaned over half heartedly to grab it instead of taking a step), watching the ball on defense and trying so hard for the flashy assist that he turns the ball over instead of working into the offense and making the right play.

I’m so glad he’s gone, this isn’t going to work out well in LA and even as he settles into the offense a lot of this stuff isn’t going to change.
