  • It’s just a theory or mine.

Look how Kyle would yell and reprimand Jimmy on the sidelines. It was deserved but Jimmy rarely responded well. And He played better when he had nothing to lose but sling it - like when we’re losing and There’s only a few minutes left, he made quiet a few 4th quarter comebacks.

But during the first 50 minutes, when Kyle expects him to be calculated and precise (which is good) Jimmy always had a few bonehead plays.

Meanwhile I’m those first few games where he singer in week 10 and there was no time to learn the playbook and therefore no rules - Jimmy played his best ever as a 49er.

  • I theorize it was Kyle’s offense and not the ACL that changed Jimmy.

Jimmy is more of a slinger / less of a thinker. My guess is his natural way is not to over calculate and overthink and over plan - but instead to let it rip with instincts in the moment. Like Favre, hence the interceptions for both of them. And Jimmys natural way clashes with Kyle’s way. That’s why Jimmy did so good those first five games - there were no rules, he didn’t have time to learn the playbook so they had to let him sling. But once Kyle’s rules took affect, and Jimmy was expected to play to an organized standard - it actually hurt Jimmys natural way.

No knocking either of them - it just wasn’t a good fit. And I prefer over organized over gunslinging everyday of the week.
