  • Punching it doesn’t fix the issue. The camera still very much works. Also, if you know how to play Maestro, a ton of his best camera spots are in spots that are tough to melee it in, or spots in which it can’t be melee’d at all.

There’s and edit clarifying the Ash and Kali thing. Read the whole thing next time. And Brava doesn’t take that long. More importantly, she can hack the device, and then just wait behind cover. You say that anyone with a brain would shoot the drone, but his isn’t possible when being shot at or placed under pressure by someone who is actually trying to kill you. The fact of the matter is that Brava just works against uncoordinated teams, which is usually what you’re dealing with in a typical ranked match.

  • He’s extremely weak. Look at his playrate. People don’t want to play weak Operators. I know it’s his gadget, too, because he has a desirable loadout.

Tons of operators remain balanced but also remain strong enough to be viable and worth playing. In his current state, Maestro turns out to be more detrimental than helpful in a good bit of instances, making him too risky to run.

It’s also worth noting that you’d get a lot farther if you’d at least try to approach this with a smidge of goodwill.

  • Should have a Solis and a Mute? Maybe you feel that way, but not every player does. Not every defender line up will have those Operators.

Also, the whole nerf thing was addressed in an edit of the original post. And Brava does plenty. Saying she does nothing, as a claim without anything else to support it, isn’t really all that convincing.

And I doubt the claim that Maestro is picked a lot in champion. His playrate does not reflect this idea.

  • “Super strong” is a huge oversell, considering that you could just roam to protect interior walls, and waste attacker time, something you should be doing anyways. Castle can also be used to lock down these areas, as can Azami. Maestro, still, is subpar at doing this compared to other Operators. Besides, what happens when the cam is hacked? Now they have the wall and something to protect it with.

  • Yeah, but so many Operators shouldn’t be required to make an Operator playable, because all of those counters don’t even guarantee that they don’t get hacked/destroyed.

Also, all it takes is one Maestro cam being hacked to make him a detriment to bring. If it’s offsite, it’s permanent flank watch (defenders hardly have any utility to be rid of their own Evil Eyes) and if it’s onsite, it can serve as area denial for the rest of the round. All it takes is one.

  • Right, but most of those Maestro cams can be easily flushed out by a Brava or a GONNE-6, which would only require you to peek for a second, given that it’s perfectly accurate from the hip. A third cam helps, yes, as it’s more to destroy, but it still doesn’t fix Maestro’s Achilles heel, which is just the over representation of ways to stop his gadget.
