i asked the same question and answer is yes. but since you frequently add fresh oil you can do it abit later but gunks in oil filter still builds up.

this is true for most professionals. because they follow what they are being taught and have been doing these same stuffs for ages that they dont really have the time or mindset to look up the internet for new stuffs, written by nobodies like you and me who probably arent pros.
textbook of dont fix what doesnt break. casuals like us dont know much so we rely on the internet, and with our own background we might have come up with innovative search parameters that gives us alternative ways of doing things.
i have talked to electricians, mechanics, carpenters, furniture makers, many times they say it’s the first time i mention about something, even if the method or item is common on the internet, if their suppliers doesnt update them they dont know about it. But still i respect their professional knowledge and skill, something that cant be gained by just googling.
