When you think about how long it took Pep to win another CL after he left Barca despite being completely supported financially at his latter clubs, and also seeing how much money PSG has thrown at it without winning it…it just seems extremely tough for anyone to catch RM.

I think the time period may need to be over 100 years for it to happen realistically.

Street Fighter and every other fighting game. I guess it’s not that the game doesn’t start till you’ve beaten it but more of beating the single player story mode of these games was never the point.

It was not. The goal was to win UCL. Juventus were UCL finalists a few times the years before he arrived. He was supposed to get them over the line.

I think modern players are better in general because of the advances in sports medicine, tactics and a change in professional discipline.

This is to say that if you plucked out those greats from before had them time travel to now and stuck them in a team for a season they would not perform as well as the modern greats.

Now if you plucked those greats out while they were young children and brought them to modern times and had them grow up and develop through the exact same environments as today’s players then there would be no telling how they would do. Meaning we can’t say if Pele, Maradona, and Messi all grew up at the exact same time who would actually be the best.

Barca slightly edged them out for that period, but Madrid are still the biggest and most successful club in the history of football.

I say slightly because in the grand view of things domestic titles are just not as important as UCL wins. Think about AC Milan and Juventus. Globally, Milan are way more famous because they did well in Europe even though Juve are way ahead of them domestically.
