Struggling to see where we’re going to get creativity from with the absence of Jesus, Ødegaard and Vieira.

ESR and Havertz are good on their day but they’re not going be playing any passes that unlocks a defence.

Surely if we’re going to drop Ødegaard we play Vieira instead of one of Havertz/ESR? I’m guessing the plan is to use ESR to tiki taka our way through that Sheffield low block bc he is rather good at that quick link up play

well yeah it was a mixture of Saka having an off day by his standards, Cucurella having a good game by his standards and Cucurella kicking the shit out of saka.

Even if Saka gets shut out “unfairly”, he’s still getting shut out. Instead of complaining about it and how bad the refs are, we might as well solve the issue at hand wouldnt you agree?

And I’m not just talking about the chelsea game in isolation, we saw it every time Saka faced Ake against City last season for example.

At times it’s hard to create anything when their fullbacks do an amazing 1v1 job to shut out Sakanelli. For these matches I wish we’d play Martinelli/Trossard Havertz Jesus as our front 3, gives us a completely different dimension to our attack and adds that bit of a chaos factor too that we lack at times.
