I run Linux Mint version 19.1. my computer is very basic almost 7 years old. 1050 Ti. I have steam. There’s an app on Chromecast called steam link. The Chromecast is plugged into TV and connected to wifi. This allows steam running on the Linux computer to stream games to the tv. The controllers are connected to the computer.

Setup works very well. Highly recommend.

You don’t need a Google tv, any tv will work Just the Chromecast. They are 20-40$. Install steam link in the Chromecast and then your Linux box can stream games to your tv.
