The defense looks the same without Burns

Nowhere in the article does it say it wasn’t allowed to happen.

Despite the team trading up to draft Young No. 1 overall in April, a team source said that by Week 5 multiple Carolina coaches wanted to bench the rookie for veteran quarterback Andy Dalton. Some believed the team needed a change and that Young required more coaching. The team decided this wasn’t about trying to get wins in the short term but to stay on task with teaching and developing Young in the offense. From all my conversations this past week, the Panthers still believe Bryce Young can be an incredible quarterback. Another team source texted, “He needs better protections and weapons. He has ‘it.’ We do not protect the middle of the pocket. He needs it most in this area because he’s 5-10.”

Panther fans are impossible to appease…lol…what?

Since Tepper bought the team, we will be on our 4th coach head coach in 6 years…and we’re 30-63 with a winning percentage of .323…over that time frame we are now the 2nd most losing franchise in the NFL.

But yeah sure, Panther fans are so hard to please…

That’s true but the defense also has more talent even with the injuries…Brown, Burns, Luvu, Woods…there isn’t any player talent like that on offense.

How is Reich “one of them”?

Nobody is criticizing Tepper for spending money to try and make the team better…people are criticizing him for being too involved with the football decisions, because he isn’t good at it. If he were good at it then he wouldn’t be getting criticized.

Three rival NFL front-office executives said they weren’t surprised Reich and his staff struggled to produce wins this season, because the Panthers’ roster is so thin on talent. Speaking on condition of anonymity so they could talk freely about another team, they also questioned how general manager Scott Fitterer has kept his job. Fitterer constructed Carolina’s feeble roster and helped Reich make the decision to draft Young over C.J. Stroud, the Texans quarterback who may win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Some believed the more prudent decision would have been to keep Reich another year while replacing Fitterer, to see if a new front office could fortify the roster and give Reich and Young a better chance to succeed.

Do you have an actual point?

-We had Foreman last year and a healthy Oline

-the scheme is built around Bryce. The Panthers were the only team in the NFL using a Power O scheme. Other teams dropped this scheme years ago. There is a reason they dropped it.

-we don’t have the WRs that can do it. That falls on Fitt as he handpicked all of these WRs.

It’s funny to me that everyone blames Reich on this sub and everyone else in the NFL world knows Fitt is the problem. Fitt can’t evaluate talent which leaves any head coach in a difficult spot working with bad players.

Bryce isn’t known for his deep ball. Draft status doesn’t mean anything.

I don’t think it accomplishes anything to fire Reich before the end of the season.

Fitt on the other hand, I think we should go ahead and move on him.

They built the scheme around Bryce, so they are building the scheme around the players they have. Not building the scheme around the QB is crazy.

We were the only team in the NFL running a power Oline scheme. There is a reason no other teams (outside of goal line or short yardage) run a power Oline.

You have to realize there is a transition period. If you think you have a Franchise QB, then you absolutely draft him and change whatever you need to. The problem comes in, if you miss on the pick.

Horn hasn’t been injured as a result of the turf at BofA stadium.

Honestly give credit to where it is do…Reich has done a good job scheming Thielen.

The 100s of scouting services out there. There are two main subscription professional scouting services NFL teams use in addition to their internal scouting. the plugged in services like the Todd McShay for example I’m sure have access to those as well.

Finally, maybe our GM and scouts need to start paying attention to them based on pur draft history.

Not only that, but we passed on Parsons as well for Horn…doesn’t look good either.

You are correct about his health, but when everyone had Surtain ranked as almost the consensus #1 CB then this definitely doesn’t look good. Aside from that Horn was ranked overall as the 18th or so player in the draft regardless of position.

They changed to a zone blocking scheme to be able to accommodate Bryce. Plus, teams with power Olines don’t make it to the Super Bowl…there is a reason for that.

Regardless if Reich is here or not here, changing to a zone type blocking scheme us the correct move. Unfortunately Bozeman and our LGs don’t really fit that.
