Why don’t they want it to end?
Why don’t they want it to end?
That makes sense (I have not read those books) but yeah I could see that kinda thing going down… I appreciate the context
… So, Sexy Bart Simpson costume this year or what? 👻
I think you’re talking about the film “Glory Daze: The Life and Times of Michael Alig” and the associated Club Kids scene. Folks may also recall the film “Party Monster” about the same guy.
I’m somewhat familiar with the Club Kid scene and while they were often young and often used drugs, I’m not convinced of the sex trafficking scheme that your post seems to imply. Do you have any references, if that is your claim?
Ok so I did read about the affirmative action policy you linked, how does that support your argument?
I guess my main issue with your argument is that I’m not convinced of the reliability of the sources you’ve cited regarding the situation in Xinjiang.
Despite your criticisms of Wikipedia, I believe the users of the site do a good job of vetting the information that’s there.
I do think it’s valid to criticize the US broadly, and I likewise think it’s valid to criticize China when they appear to be doing mass internment and “re-education” of their minority groups.
I am inviting you to consider this question!
I’m aware of what it is. I like to use it to learn about things that generally have agreement among internet users. Why do you think that your sources aren’t being used to edit the pages on WP? (Genuine question)
I notice no Wikipedia links in there 👀 Edit: my mistake there is one and I will reply separately

The first paragraph of the first link you shared:
The U.S. State Department’s Office of the Legal Advisor concluded earlier this year that China’s mass imprisonment and forced labor of ethnic Uighurs in Xinjiang amounts to crimes against humanity—but there was insufficient evidence to prove genocide
So basically you’re saying “don’t worry they’re just doing crimes against humanity but not technically genocide.” Not a great argument IMHO
This article seems to say that China has shifted to subtler methods of subjugation, possibly due to Western sanctions. Not that it was fabricated.
I’m not here to argue about the definition of genocide. IMHO, if there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Can you provide a source for your claim that “western media has backed away from the claim of Uighur genocide”?
In addition to the arbitrary detention of Uyghurs in state-sponsored camps, government policies have included forced labor,[5][6] suppression of Uyghur religious practices,[7] political indoctrination,[8] forced sterilization,[9] forced contraception,[10][11] and forced abortion.[12][13]
Sure, nothing to see here /s
I’m guessing GP is a comment about JPEG compression

I’m frustrated that this keeps happening (aid money ending up in rich people’s pockets)
Is there any way to mitigate this?
