I think Goga should keep starting. He’s a wayyy better defender than Wendell. He bangs around and does the dirty work that Wendell doesn’t do. No offense to Wendell, but he just doesn’t have a center’s mentality. He doesn’t play physical. Goga has that old-school center mentality that we need defensively. Yea Goga doesn’t offer much on offense, but he’s a good passer and we have other players that need the ball anyways.

We also have Paolo who is half Italian. Next we just need Rui Hachimura lol.

What’s especially crazy about this is how ugly his shot looks lol. It’s hideous but if it works it works!

Maybe we can actually win without making threes? We only made 7 threes. We got to the line like crazy though. Franz and Paolo are really good at getting fouled. Maybe we replace the three ball with free throws? Maybe this will be the start of a new analytical revolution in basketball? Lol probably not but, funny to think about.

I’m more firmly on the fire Bowles train than ever. We gave up 420 yards and over 7 yards per play. That is terrible defense. Alot of those yards were super easy. Run an in or a deep crosser from a tight formation and we have a 0% chance of covering it. Teams are figuring out that we run cover 3 all the fucking time and just dial up cover 3 beaters to beat us easily. Then when we do play man coverage, it’s too obvious based on the formation, or if it’s not obvious then we’re in some wonky fucked up leverage. Bowles is really not a great DC. He draws up some nifty blitz packages and coaches good run defense but his coverage designs are really not that good. I’ve charted a bunch of our defensive playcalls this year and the deep cover 3 is just too predictable. We make any decent qb look like a superstar. The middle of the field behind the linebackers is always wide open because the middle safety is so fucking deep. We have a safety playing punt returner and covering absolutely nobody.

How can we have our best shooters, Gary Harris and Joe Ingles only shoot 3 threes each, while 25% chucker Jalen Suggs jacks up 7. Terrible coaching. Jalen needs to realize he’s not that guy and just focus on passing.

Everybody is complaining about the offense but we gave up 73 points in the first half…what happened to the defense? I didn’t watch the game so, somebody tell me how the hell we gave up 73 in a half?

I find it very concerning that we have gotten worse at shooting instead of getting better. We already couldn’t shoot last year, now we REALLY can’t shoot.

Our roster construction is fucking ass. No shooting. I’ll just go ahead and say it. Drafting Paolo instead of someone who could actually shoot was fucking stupid. He may be a great player someday but he does not fit our roster. And the moves we’ve made since drafting him don’t make any sense either. It’s like the FO somehow thinks we can win without making 3s. Spoiler alert, we can’t.

I agree. We cannot have Markelle, Jalen, and Paolo in the starting lineup together long-term. One of them will need to go, and it will obviously be Markelle, which sucks because he’s a very good player, he just doesn’t fit with Paolo. They’re too similar. We can’t have 3 non shooters out there for 30 minutes a game. Also, I have no fucking clue why we drafted Anthony Black, he’s basically a Markelle clone, he doesn’t fit with Paolo either.

I was very impressed with how we played in this game. I thought we played a lot better than we did in the win over Portland. I thought this looked like a hard fought game between 2 playoff caliber teams. Played great defense. Just didn’t shoot quite well enough.

I loved how unselfish we were. Everybody was willing to pass and get their teammates involved. Especially liked how unselfish Paolo and Joe Ingles were. Paolo frankly isn’t a great jump shooter so I loved seeing him kicking it out to better shooters when the lane was clogged up. Joe Ingles needs to shoot more honestly but he’s a very good passer as well.

It was Brady who strong-armed the Glazers. He said fire Bruce or I’m gone. He was pissed about Bruce running off AB, and he felt like he and Byron were doing most of the work. People just don’t wanna hear the truth because it ruins their idea of Bruce Arians being jesus christ.
