I just disagree with this. Our defense is pretty damn good. Our offense is historically bad. If we have a chance to draft a QB who we think is a potential franchise QB, we absolutely should do that, because you don’t get that chance every year. In fact you rarely do.

You can build around a young franchise QB. You can’t build a team that is only missing a QB and then just hope one falls into your lap.

I’m not saying we should go out and make getting new QB our top priority. But if you’re sitting in the draft and one is available when you pick, you take him. Teams do not win Super Bowls without great QBs. That team could have the best players at every other position and would get bounced in the playoffs by Mahomes or Burrow.

Isn’t this in the US capitalism in a nutshell? Poor -> die.

I don’t think the problem is that they don’t think it’s important to get a lead. I’m sure they would all prefer to get a lead. The problem is that our offense absolutely stinks and getting a lead requires scoring points.
