Only if you see “being smart” as a one-dimensional axis.

Imo Ghibli is the only studio that could ever fully do the story justice.
I’ve avoided these AAA games for a long time, but I gotta admit, an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan does pique my interest. Can’t wait to buy it once the DRM expires - assuming reviews are good.
I misread that at first and got really excited about a Resident Evil SimCity for a second.
This is largely semantic, and highly subjective, but to me “Engineer” implies more design, architecture, and planning (ie, meetings).
A Senior “Developer” would imply more day-to-day coding to me. Not that companies care what I think, of course.
It sucks that we can’t just have nice things any more, there always has to be some executive somewhere that just totally ruins everything for everyone all the time.
For anyone wondering: $14.2 million of that is profit.
Seems to me like they’re doing just fine.
Was going through some semi-justified teenage angst stuff back in the day and my laptop was having some small issue, so I smashed my laptop.
I’m not normally prone to anger - then or now, so that was particularly out of character for me. I also wasn’t able to replace it for a long while, since I wasn’t like, rich or anything like that.
Honestly though, I’ve never regretted it. Given the circumstances (tl;dr: poor upbringing, loneliness), I can totally see why someone would lash out like that eventually.
One of my earliest memories of the internet is Yahoo games and playing Lenny Loosejocks.
Imo we’ve clearly hit a limit with vertical scaling of data. We need some kind of breakthrough on better ways to process what data we’ve got if we want to continue making meaningful progress.
Man, that’s a name I haven’t heard in a loooong time. Guy was the bane of my childhood, lol.
Yep, that’s the one! I 100% want to give the 6502 a shot too, would be fun to run something more complex than a Fibonacci Sequence on it, haha.
An attempt was certainly made to keep it tidy.
I built one of those Ben Eater 8 bit breadboard computers, which I’m pretty proud of.
Once worked in a shop where they built an entire massive pressure vessel, and only noticed once it was done that it was mirrored left/right from the blueprint.
Thankfully I wasn’t involved in that particular project but yeeeesh, that probably cost nearly $100k to fix.
Agreed, that was the era of decentralization, when people could still have their own niche websites, instead of everything being run by a small handful of corporations.
I’m a bit torn on this. On the one hand, it seems like it would be fun to battle friends, and I understand there’s a built in design for the “collectible” aspect that I really can’t be upset about.
On the other hand, the entire ad was about the “shiney collectibles” aspect, and the actual utility of those cards (ie, battling) was barely an afterthought. That doesn’t say great things about their priorities here.
True that.
I drew Fire from Ifrit once.
