  • The thing this sub don’t really think about is what Jaylen’s role means, especially this year. His plus/minus can get better, but it will never be too good. He shares the court with Tatum less than others and well, he is not Tatum. (As you well said, rebounding and defense also plays a role in the difference between lineups.)

I really like what Joe is doing with the rotations this year. JB-KP duo takes on non-Tatum minutes and actually that holds better than last year’s non-Tatum minutes. Their connection really means a lot to the team and they demonstrate lots of potential there. One thing lacks in that duo is ball-handling which is supposed to be provided by Jrue or DWhite. For the last few games, DWhite wasn’t around and Jrue was not really himself, that is when Jaylen’s performance and numbers dropped. But Jrue-JB-KP lineups did really well before that and I think mostly that will be the case. I am expecting a division between Jrue+JB+KP+bench and Tatum+White+Al+bench when resting the starters. The others might change but Tatum and JB will take turns and that will hurt plus/minus for JB for sure but that is a good plan.

You are spot on about rebounding, that is one point we need to figure out about the rotations. (That was also the only thing hurting us this game.)

  • I liked our offense. All the hunting on Dame, Beasley on Kris, good ball movement and PnRs, playmaking from JB… I liked our defense too, made Dame, Lopez and Giannis work for every shot. The only thing we need to work on defensive boards, this was a blowout in the first half if not for those second chance points with offensive boards.

This could be the best JB game while Tatum was suffering from illness but also prob to Al Horford and Sam. Horford was the secret hero of this game, as he usually is against both Philly and Bucks with all the right things to do and Sam is again a sniper.
