The way the officiating changed in the 4th makes me think the refs need to be investigated. That was a great game up until we still had a big lead in the 4th and all of a sudden the game slowed down and guys like Dame, Giannis and Brook were allowed to maul us without repercussions.

Overall a good win against an okay team. Not really a standout game because the bucks aren’t a team the Celtics should be worried about.

Brook Lopez isn’t gonna play that good every time.

Well, if we managed to limit Giannis and Dame like this every time, he actually might play this well but it doesn’t matter in that case.

I’m pretty new to NBA and so I’m curious why you say this? I was impressed by Lopez and found him the most concerning thing for the C’s to face (until Lilliard started going off in the 4th).

So have there been games of Brook being meh last year or something?

His numbers yesterday were well above his averages.

That buzzer beater makes the starters from both team look so different. Both teams closed with their starters. So that three pointer makes a +15 for the bucks starters and a -15 for the Celtics Starters.

With that three pointer it was +16 Bucks -6 Celtics. Without it then it becomes +1 Bucks +9 Celtics. If anyone in the media points this difference in the starters in the future I’ll be fumming.

We didn’t close with our starters I thought. Horford played like the last 19 mins of the game straight

That is correct, Horford played the last 2 minutes after KP got a tech. So that’s a +12 not +15 which still maintains the idea

Watching this game and hearing Scal talk about the Dame/Giannis PnR got me thinking.

He kept saying Milwaukee should run more PnRs with those two and the conventional wisdom is to have your best players working off each other… but do you really want your best two players playing off each other all the time?

Giannis and Dame individually only have the energy to be involved in so many actions per game, it almost feels like you’re wasting them by having them both in that action.

Obviously, this is a gross oversimplification but:

    25 possessions by Dame + 25 by Giannis = 50 possessions

    15 possessions by Dame + 15 by Giannis + 10 by Dame and Giannis = 40 possessions

If you’re demanding high volume out of two guys then do you actually want them spreading their workload out as much as possible?

The other alternative is to just add more possessions to Giannis’ already filled plate. The purpose of bringing in Dame was to lighten Giannis’ workload. I don’t know that making Giannis help Dame out on top of fulfilling his own obligations necessarily accomplishes that.

I think that was actually pretty clear to see when Giannis was off court. Sure you run a Dame and Giannis PnR when you need a bucket, but throughout the game I’d say you run more a Middleton and Giannis PnR (we have seen this can win a championship lol) and then you run a Dame and Lopez PnR.

There you also pointed out the reason why JB-KP plays are so good for us going forward.

In regards to other games from around the league: AD is Time Lord with better offensive skills, but no heart. How do you not score a point in the second half when Dallas was missing their best center? Makes no sense
