“Some” appears to be 3. How many are left?
It’s nice to see them lowering the bar for “high-quality” at the same time. Really makes it seem like they mean it. /s
Analysts using Julia and Mathematica are confused by this meme.
I’m running PopOS on a computer for wathing media at home. I’m not too impressed. I read a bunch of comment threads recommening it so I treid it out. They seem a bit unstable – that at least falls in OP middle ground. I made an update and dpms management was just different, like the screen is no longer turning itself off. I’ve had some thing like this happen on it. It’s not breakage, it’s a bit annoying. “Just works”? Eh, sure, kinda’.

Saw a guy in italy almost ram a cop car atan intersection. I think the driver was running a red light, but could have been the cop running a red. Anyhow, the driver breaks just before the cop car, and the cop on the passanger side just gesticulates his discontent but they just keep rolling on anyway. They could not be bothered.
There is a subtle difference in the abriviation: “DN!” and “DN”. :-)
Just to type it out to make it easier to find: Democracy Now!
Not the person you were replying to, and don’t understand exactly what you mean with port and device id. But if it changes every time, -ish, you plug it in, do you mean like /dev/sdX device names? If so, then maybe look at /dev/disk/by-TYPE/ and use those instead? You have stuff there which is the same each time you plug in.
I have been forced to use mac now for like a year, and I don’t get the whole “just works” opinion of it. Like I have had so many issues with just basic stuff. Turning off mouse acceleration and the mouse still feels all slimy. Highest mouse speed is so slow and setting it higher requires some crazy tricks, which also does not work consistently through boots. It can’t wake up a lot of monitors, I have to turn them off and on manually. If it cannot connect to a monitor properly but tries, it like disables your keyboard for a few seconds while trying. Some items in the settings menu take a long time to load, as in if I reboot, log in, open settings, there is no mouse settings.
There is a video linked in the article for context:

If I try to interpret the context, it could be C programmers just being negative to Rust because it is not C, that there is a conception of Rust programmers trying to enforce Rust on others, or that Rust programmers will break things.
Did not want to switch from windows 98 SE to XP, so went with linux instead.
Looks like it, yeah! Thanks!
Don’t know the name… It was on DOS, exploring a castle or something, your character was the spade character from cards, and in one of the first rooms you find a… helmet, or was it sheild?
So you get to leave as soon as you are done? Do the others not get to do that?
I’d say this happens everywhere, with some exceptions maybe. Like I used to be in academia, it’s generally a stressful environment since you are 100% responsibe for everything. There is freedom in that too, but stressful.
Now I work in an office. There are some that take any chance they get to relax for a bit, socialize, snd so on. I don’t, I go there to work. I’m a bit introvert, so I don’t socialize much, but I put in some effort not to appear antisocial, but that is it.
I like my work, as in the tasks I do give me some satisfaction. I do it for me. I don’t socialize or relax at work because I happen to perfer the tasks. I know I’m lucky here, a lot of people do not get to work jobs like this. My collegues probably do not think the same way about their jobs, and I don’t blame them.
What I don’t get with what you are saying is the following. If everyone is “slacking off”, you get to do your work. I suppose you are not in a position where doing the tasks are satisfying enough to you, and that is why you’d want the others to do the tasks as well. But if you don’t get that satisfaction from doing the tasks, don’t you sympathize with your coworkers? They too probably do not get the satisfaction they’d prefer from the job alone, just like you? The difference between you and them is maybe then in the desire to socialize at work.
If you, unlike them, do not have any way of getting some base level of satisfaction at work, by the tasks alone or by some other means, and instead start resenting them for trying to get that satisfaction, then if you have to opportunity to change your line of work may help. People will probably still be the same, but maybe you won’t resent them?
I had two interactions with the same type of realization as a kid.
One of them was the tough and sort of school bully, who one day during the days of yule preparation at school went up to me and tried to probe me on how difficult making candles was because it was gonna be his turn soon.
The second one is more similar to yours. Summer camp thing. One guy I was in the same class as in school was playing tough during the camp. Did not interact a lot with him then, just noticed it, like he did not need a teddy or stuff like the other kids brought. Then we are back at school, after camp, he is not back. I hear from somewhere that he got severly home sick during camp, and had a hard time processing it. Later he did show up to school again, with his mom dropping him off. It was horrible. She tried to leave and he just cried and screamed. I think they tried it a few times more, but he just sat in a corner crying. A year or so later I see him back at school again, retaking that year.
Is this a diagram for how it should work? Not how it actually works? Like I put my stuff in the ~/.bashrc, mostly because I think the debian one says like “put your fun stuff below here” or something. The green and grey lines go through the ~/.bashrc, but both of them go through the “no login” bubble in the diagram. But I know my ~/.bashrc works, so the diagram is a suggestion?
Yeah, there was always one broken on these fuckers
