Texans are playing their best ball right now, feeling it in all three phases. Stroud is legit and plays with amazing anticipation and timing - also Bengals were down Tee Higgins who absolutely dunked on us last week on like every 3rd down.
Stroud is a tier 2 QB already and shows signs of fearless, tier 1 play. Some of the out-routes that he rips on time are so fuckin impressive.
Last but not least, not much separates the worst football team from the best football team. On any team’s best day - any other team in the NFL could lose. That’s what makes this sport so insane and why it brings us back, time after time.
Go Bills! I miss Buffalo
I mean that play is literally a similar-but-different version of what the Bills ran on the egregious picks against the Bengals and Broncos.
On the left side of the hash is the post/go route for the “x” (Gabe Davis) and then cook goes out wide as the outlet. Classic hi-lo read, if the safety jumps up to cover the rb you have a one-on-one deep, otherwise you take the low read for an easy 7+ yd chunk. Josh doesn’t even make it to 3 or 4 on that read, almost ever.
Josh rips the hole shot as his feet are telling him not to throw it. Safeties and CBs in the NFL cover more ground than college ones can - easy int. Stuff like that is not going to get fixed by playcalling, imo.
