It is the best it’s looked in years. Could we do more, sure. But that’s not even an issue right now.

I think EB is already being evaluated for HC. So far I like everything I see. He’s able to change strategy when something’s not working. He’s able to use his players to the best of their abilities. He’s turned us into a really good offensive unit. He has the support of his players and has a great pedigree. What else do we need? Now I will say let’s wait until the new front office is in place, but I think EB is on a short list.
You gotta factor in either re-signing or signing 21 new players after this season. So that cap number will shrink dramatically. Then we gotta sign all these rookies we about to draft too.
We have 21 free agents coming up this off season. This team can look pretty different going into next year. Most of the offense will be here. Howell, B-rob, terry, jahan and the whole t.e. room. Big improvements needed on the o-line, that can make us look like a different team instantly. We will need more edge rushers and secondary help.
So it’s definitely a rebuild but not a 5 year everything goes type. More like we should be competing again in 2-3 years for real. No backdoor into the playoffs cause the division sucks bs. Real competing.
They already just hired an analyst who is probably our draft/cap expert. So as far as the draft I think we will have the plan already in place. I think closer to the end of the season we will get a new president in place. From there he will have a GM and front office put in place.
Sweat will be able to be re-signed at a good price for his production, we should lock him up.
Young on the other hand is going to negotiate for a top contract. He’s not worth a top contract. He’s not worth franchising and paying him top dollar just to have to go through it all over again next year. Let him go. He can be productive on someone else’s team while screwing their salary cap.
We need to stop trying to use the franchise tag. We have seen first hand what an actual cluster the tag is. The tag is solely for extending negotiations. It’s not to get one more year out of someone.
We can still wear all of our old gear, we just have to remove the redskins and native American imagery.
I know I’m in the minority but I love the fact that as an organization we are finally looking forward. I love the new uniforms (the white jersey needs some tweaking). The new name is corny but it will become more normal as time goes on. We will hopefully put a great front office together to help us win. There is so much positive things happening right now that it is worth not having a “throwback jersey” right now.
