He was pretty much elite from day 1. But the best offense he ever had was in 2011 and it went downhill from there his entire career.

His line got worse, his receivers got worse, run got worse. CMC wasn’t really CMC (as a runner) until 2018, right at the end of Cam’s effective career.

Eh, he was not as bad as Bryce is. But he was still pretty inconsistent, trying to push too much, making bad decisions, etc.

But he was a rookie. Nothing crazy.

I don’t think a team will have to carry him, but I do think he will need a Top 10 line to flourish.

Maybe that’s not ideal, but it was also true of Drew Brees and he had a solid career.

I mean, it is possible to learn and get better at stuff. Even if Tepper sucks now, it doesn’t mean he’ll suck forever.

Bryce is not being helped by his offense, but he’s underachieving relative to QBs facing similar troubles.

We turned CMC into Zavala, DJ Johnson, and Mingo (and like a future 5th).

You would take that trade if they’re players? I wouldn’t.

I would much rather have CMC to pair with my young QB who now has shown to critically need such an outlet.

If we had CMC and DJ Moore on this team and we were still sucking, we could pin the blame solely on Bryce and be much more sure of what needed to be done.

But right now its just a huge cluster fuck, with shared responsibility between the line, WRs, and Bryce, and no clear path.

A back up NFL QB is still one of the Top .001% of people who ever played QB at any level of football.
