From 2014 to 2020 we had New Bloom, Diretide and Festivus each year
The way you write this makes it sound like we had 3 events per year, which is just not true.
According to your link we had:
- 2014: New Bloom
- 2015: New Bloom
- 2016: New Bloom
- 2017: Frostivus, Dark Moon
- 2018: Frostivus
- 2019: New Bloom, Frostivus
- 2020: New Bloom, Diretide
- 2021: -
- 2022: Diretide
- 2023: Frostivus
That’s because it isn’t overtaking CSGO.
Currently, worldwide the top 5 are Steam Deck, Apex Legends, Lethal Company, Counter Strike 2, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Dota 2 is on place 30.
What’s that even supposed to mean? On par in what?
Viewer numbers? I haven’t checked, but I would be highly surprised if Worlds doesn’t have at least double the viewer numbers.
Quality wise? I wouldn’t know, I never watched Worlds and probably never will.
All I know is TI23 was extremely high quality in production value, compared to basically all the previous TIs.
Not sure who said that they don’t care about cosmetics at all. Most of us just care about the game/gameplay more than skins.
And besides, why should I go back to a 20 year old game when I can just play Dota 2, which is getting more gameplay updates than new skins currently, which is exactly what I want? Your argument doesn’t make any sense.
Except you clearly do, as you can see with this post.
I would actually argue, that if I value gameplay above skins, that I enjoy and aim for higher standards than you, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
Obviously, and the game is still free. Every penny you decide to spend on this game is completely optional. If you think the game doesn’t deserve your money any more, then don’t spend it on the game.
Sincerely, a Dota+ subscriber, who bought every battle pass since 2014 and this year, for the first time, even got the Aegis Replica.
The game is free
