I would say there are two types of devs.
The HACKER MAN knowing everything, always have the only solution and being boss in their realm
The DAUBTER thinking they know too less, always searching for the best solution for the problem and trying to get as many information to solve the problem as possible
Even having the imposter syndrome as a big problem for mental health. I genuinely have the opinion it makes the better devs.
Sabayon. It worked perfectly till I tried to update some stuff 💣
This was one the most stable and at the same time the most unstable distribution I ever tried.

No successful company would host their stuff on NT. Even Microsoft is aware of that.
Yes. In Germany 30 are quite common. A fried of mine additionally changed some bonus for 5 extra days this isn’t the normal case but she has 35 days off
Das war schon immer der anhaltende Zustand!

I tried hyprland. It’s okish and very (very) colorful.
For a tiling wm it’s just over complex and does not integrate well with other tools. The configuration is a nightmare tbh.
If you want to get your fingers dirty on tiling WM using Wayland Sway is just fine. It’s minimalistic and feels almost like i3.
Vaxry tries to shit on another project.
The current design language, IMO, is one of the worst I’ve seen in a while, but
Qed. His posts should not get any attention. He is as narcissistic as toxic.
In 3 of my last 4 jobs as developer I could use Linux as desktop. The 1 exception did not have the admins that could think ahead of what Amazon or Microsoft has told them. They where also struggling with other ‘modern’ ideas.
Maybe a German thing, but Linux for a dev is quite common here.
Ubuntu > Sabayon > mint > Arch > Mandriva > CentOS > Debian testing & Arch ( just the best ones )
I would not call Android a Linux. It may have the kernel but it isn’t much GNU in it
It is. I like Linux exactly because I trust the packages from the distribution. Everything else is an attack vector and untrusted
Edit: you install random binaries from the internet? Oo
What could be wrong with random foreign executables in your system?
You can debootstrap your debian yourself. It’s not the same as arch but even more configurable
On my side it’s running since years without problems. I would never use arch on a business workstation with debian testing I see no problems at all.
Yes it runs quite stable. But the packages and their configuration can change.
If you’re looking for something more conservative, the stable branch fits better but on a desktop it’s very old (like an Ubuntu lts)
Somewhat but it is a rolling release. Packages will be major-updated constantly.
Does it run locally or at some computing cloud?
