Come on Mike. Mention Hesse.
Come on Mike. Mention Hesse.
Of course he’s going to be high on his list. But I was told that Tepper can’t get a move right no matter what. And Carolina probably isn’t high on his list, but the south is weak right now and he could bring in his own guy for GM in Ray Agnew and probably get a salary close to 10 million per. That’s why an owner like this is dangerous.
First, you have to accept that Murray isn’t an all star level player. If this team really wants to get somewhere, Trae needs a sidekick that’s as good as him or better. I know this shit is tough to hear, but it’s the damn truth. And that’s why this team is fundamentally flawed. They play ok together. They can put a stretch of a few good games together. But this team is a first round and out team right now. And their ancillary pieces aren’t all that great either. They have one young and up coming guy. Their other guys are older and starting to decline. They made some grave mistakes in their tank and that’s why they had to make that Murray trade in the first place. The hawks have really only played a good few months of basketball since Trae got here. That’s six years. Maybe you fans that only bitch about doomers and can’t tell shit on the team can finally get it. It is what it is. You have to bank on Jalen becoming close to an all star level player. And that’s a big fucking ask of him this early. But that’s where the team is. Some of you will say it’s only been 17 games, but the hawks earlier this year and now are in the same image of the hawks every year. Fans aren’t seeing anything new. It’s the same shit on rinse and repeat.
Murray is fine. He is what he is. He’s actually been playing above his contract. There’s another guy that you need to speak about, but he just had maybe his best four games of basketball last week and people will give him a pass. And so what? Yes he’s the best player on this team. That doesn’t really mean shit right now. Yes he can assist the fuck out of the basketball. Yes he can hit FTs at an elite clip. Yes he can get some steals now and then. Yes he’s playing a little bit better on defense. But he’s still way far away from being a plus guy because he can get hunted on. We will see how good of a coach Quin really is this year. He’s earning his money trying to make this into something better than what’s out there. He just hasn’t done it yet. And he has a tall task ahead of him.
You aren’t going to get much traction for the recommended. This sub is set on Jayden, but they lost 11 draft slots this week and will probably be out on him unless they trade up. And he could rise up even more during the draft process.
Some of y’all still trying to talk yourselves into this happening. And desperately want game manager play for some reason. Only way I would be ok with this is if he’s putting up 65%+, 200+ yards and better than a 2:1 ratio the rest of the way out and a winning record while looking good. And I just don’t see that happening right now.
This team can’t every type of archetype that they want. They are spending a lot of money for the guys that they have here. Also made a lot of picks that they have to roster. They are paying the coach lots of money to figure this out. And brought him in early to get a head start on this task.
I still wanna know wtf Smith was thinking by cutting Hesse in camp.
Watch how fast they get off the line and watch their hand usage and ankle flexion at their size.
He has mobility when he needs it. Obviously not as much as when he was at Indiana, but he’s not a statue. Are you worried he’s going to get sacked too much in the pros?
I don’t think contracts are a problem in what’s going on with play. The top end contracts got bloated, but almost all of the middle class is gone now and replaced with rookie contract and vet min guys.
Bland has more TDs this year as a CB, than Pitts has for his career. Arthur Smith things.
Chris Jent is long gone. He’s the one that helped John. OOs improvement has been meh on the court.
He sounded like he was about to have a seizure yesterday. The back to back has to be killing him.
Play callers are the juice. Take for instance the 2016 falcons. They had Kyle Shanahan calling plays. He left and the falcons let their whole offensive coaching staff go except for Raheem Morris who isn’t even an offensive coach. They had scored the second most points through the playoffs up until that point at somewhere around 33PPG and Matt Ryan won MVP. The next year they brought in Sarkasian and were lucky to score 20 per game.
Why is everyone trying to change what happened all of a sudden. This team went out and spent money like a MFer because Trae was good quickly and he wanted to win. That immediately stopped their tank and hindered their development. Maybe they should have rebuilt for one more year after the OO pick to try and find that second star, but they clearly couldn’t. Trae hated losing. And then this team coddled Cam. Remember when Cam was hurt and then came back in a playoff game and went off and then was excused from summer league? Cam got big headed and the team helped in that.
As far as Hunter goes, yes, he’s a huge disappointment. Remember when he was playing well and guarding PGs and then the team had him shave off his meniscus so he could hurry up and come back for the regular season? Why are people forgetting this? His knee is a huge factor to why he’s playing lame basketball right now. Just look at what he would try before that surgery vs now.
Now with OO, how are you going to fully develop him when he’s not playing in the starting lineup with your best player? The guy was picked top 10 and relegated to the bench because the team had to win and had to play Clint with Trae because Clint can’t do shit without Trae. Even with Trae, he can’t make a difficult lay up to save his life. Remember when everyone in here thought Clint was a down low monster at dunking and out backs because his FG% was so high? That was fun times.
There’s a reason why all these things happened and you people are trying to misremember why that is.
It was widely known that last years class was lacking in blue chip players and depth in the first round. And made up for it with depth in the middle rounds. That’s why you heard so much of the only two blue chippers in Bijan and Jalen. Some teams had as little as 10 guys with first round grades. Usually teams have 15-20 guys with those grades.
The chill and patience group is so interesting to me. So including last year and this year, we are looking at 73/82 reg season games, 6 playoffs games, and 11/12 games. That’s a big sample size.
Good by his standards, but this offense has serious scoring problem. Not a good thing when your back up that got benched has three of the best scoring outputs for the season.
