  • BMW are aspirational cars. As a result, they are either not cheap to buy or cheap to maintain. Please don’t buy one now.

    As for running costs. Sure, it’ll be more expensive than a more economical car. The brakes are bigger, tires are bigger, oil capacity is larger, .etc. This is all wear and tear items that have a set lifespan.

    Recommend setting aside $3k for any car to cover your deductible/unforeseen breakdown, let alone a bmw.
