Linux@lemmy.ml•What type of UI navigation do you prefer on a computer?
1·27 days agoI liked the concept of Niri, but found some bugs, and now I run Gnome with PaperWM and a couple more customizations. Love my setup.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you suddenly had 5 million dollars today, what would you do with it?
2·1 month agoCreate a non-profit, make music, create a design studio, fund local collectives, invest on my retirement, maybe do a masters degree…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to keep up to date with tech trends among younger people?
2·2 months agotrue, but for getting a job, it is quite important to be “up to date” woth the field of work. think of what happens to people that are closer to retiring, they’re seen as “obsolete” because of this

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there a Japanese equivalent to what I'm looking for?
5·2 months agoWell Japan has never been colonized, but you could represent a country that excerted foreign influence, maybe? Although thay relation wouldnt be as direct as - “Straight up colonized”.
Niri! I think you can do the branding stuff? Or Gnome+PaperWM extension!
True, it became an international citizen like all libre software. Im just proud that it was born in Mexico, in Latin America not much public recognition is had for local software. There’s a perception that most services are from abroad. Thats why i phrased the original post title like that (cross posted). More like a “if it had a nationality, it would be mexican” kinda thing.
and Federico Mena, both have cool contributions to libre software.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why aren't Chinese people afraid of US companies collecting their data?
42·7 months agoBecause they’re probably dealing with their version of surveillance from CCP. It would be interesting to hear conversations from privacy experts and advocates over there, and share experiences of what we’re all dealing with.
Try this! Fusion360 for Linux - project by Cryinkfly. I’ve seen it work for some people but I havent gotten it to work well for me.
