I’m definitely considering it. I’m in between the EX30 and Polestar2.
The XC40 is just a tad inferior in either performance or efficiency. It certainly offers the better interior! I’ve already owned a small SUV, so it really depends on where you’re coming from.
Seems really solid especially for the filthy, sloppy, beat-up interior, which only shows they didn’t treat it gingerly. They just used it like a workhorse.

The EX30 is very tempting though. But yeah, lack of driver’s instrument cluster and some key hardware controls have been an absolute no for me. Never saw any benefit in Tesla.
Another possibility is the Fisker Pear, but that’s not coming until 2025 or 2026.
Hoping this first-person account and discussion about ELECTRIC VEHICLES — the namesake of the subreddit — doesn’t get stifled in favor of general theory comments on charging and EV news.
I recently discovered similar in my ChargePoint account that’s been dormant since 2017. Except, they now offer a Pay As You Go option. I plan to just draw it down to a few cents, then don’t touch it. My credit card on file will expire without me updating the info.
If you’re talking about potential accidents from a minimum of low speed noise, there are already mitigations such as the built-in artificial noise makers (whirring or spinning or machine buzz, etc.). And bikes are different.
But in my experience, yes, I’ve had more “almost got rear ended” close calls while driving EV compared to driving ICE vehicle. And this is due to the combination of the unusual or unexpected regen deceleration compared to the common friction braking pace, plus the way some rear brake lights flash or don’t flash and drivers in rear traffic are too ignorantly watching your vehicle red lights instead of street traffic red lights, then they try to pass you as a result, etc.
It all becomes more accident prone.
Size is all subjective. The EX30 is smaller and will no doubt outsell the XC40.
