Give him time. He’s young and versatile. Let him develop at his own pace. Jaren Jackson Jr is my best example of this. His first few years looked rough. It didn’t help that he wasn’t in a very good team back then. But look at him now. I’m hoping that mobley has a similar trajectory or maybe a better one. I’m just saying different players have different development trajectories. Just let him develop.

I think you see some frustration with Mobley at times because we kind of need him to take an offensive leap asap if we want the Cavs to truly contend. If we just want the 5 seed, then sure, his current rate of development will probably get the Cavs there.

The issue the Cavs are facing is the management of two separate, yet not mutually exclusive, timelines:

    1. Mitchell (win now) - because this might be his last year and because of the price you paid to acquire him

    2. DG and Mobley (and even Okoro) are still developing and have yet to hit even their pre-prime

This was the same issue that Minnesota was facing prior to this season with 1) Gobert+Kat win-now timeline and 2) ANT+McDaniels development timeline. Luckily for them, both Ant and McDaniels appear to be taking leaps this season, so it looks like they’re going to be able to merge their two timelines.
